Outstanding Quality & Service. We recently visited Dickens Coffee & Tea Room for a Mother’s Day celebration. The food was excellent, portions more than ample, the tea selection of outstanding quality and the service prompt and friendly. Debbie, the proprietress, makes everyone feel special and welcome. And that’s a real Welsh accent you hear, directly from the U.K.Since this was a special occasion, there was a fixed menu, with delicious tea sandwiches (turkey & cranberry, egg salad and cucumber with cream cheese), then imported British pastries, followed by freshly baked scones, with strawberry jam and real home-made whipped cream.The tea we chose was green jasmine (which is naturally lower in caffeine), but if you ask Debbie’s opinion, she’ll always recommend the Yorkshire Gold. The beverage is always piping hot, served in fine china tea pots, with your own personal three-minute sand glass, for brewing. Needless to say, we enjoyed everything thoroughly and had a wonderful time. The ambience here is always warm and pleasant, a touch of British elegance, right here in our own back yard. We recommend Dickens, without reservation, to anyone who would enjoy a civilized and pleasant interlude, an oasis of calm in a busy world.
Charming and Delightful!. If you’re looking for a charming place for breakfast, lunch or tea, then I highly recommend Dickens Coffee and Tea Room. I’ve eaten here half a dozen times and each experience has been delightful! The sandwiches, salads and desserts are all freshly made right on site. The owner is warm and welcoming. She knows her tea, is EXTREMELY accommodating and goes out of her way to make sure your meal is perfect. She even figured out a way for me to include my daughter (who has strict dietary needs) in an afternoon tea experience which we will be doing in the near future. Walking into Dickens Tea Room will make you feel as though you’ve stepped through a magic portal and have been transported to England for afternoon tea. Completely charming and lovely!
A Treasure Found. I heartily concur with all of the wonderful reviews here. My friend and I enjoyed lunch at Dickens today, and it is incredibly unique, and I would completely and whole heartedly reccomend it! The quiche was delicious, warm and tasty, the salad balanced just right with a perfectly paired dressing. The atmostphere was the most relaxing and Debbie makes the place sing! Of course the tea was delightful, tea cups, tea pots, tea cozies, tea timers (hour glass), and dessert light airy and delicious. Thank you for being a sacred little unhurried oasis in the midst of life at the speed of life for most people!
I love this Tea Room, Debbie provides a warm atmosphere to everyone that comes in and is very knowledgable when it comes to which tea to drink. This is a very traditional Tea Room and perfect for meeting your friends for lunch or business meetings. I come as often as I can.
Poor Quality. We were so disappointed , the baby shower was nice but the food was horrible. The desserts were dry and tasteless. The $20.00 tiers were skimpy and very poor quality,so not worth the money. The gratuity was added, so no incentive to supply good service. The only thing that was good was the tea and the clotted cream. I do not recommend this place for any type of gathering.

We had a wonderful time at Dickens Coffee and Tea Room. The service and atmosphere were superb. They made it a tea to remember for my 5 year old. The afternoon tea selections were delicious and the child’s tea platter was full of sweet treats for my daughter. The owner even made my 1 year old feel welcome by providing a high chair with tray and graciously cleaning up after her. Thank you for a memorable afternoon. We will definitely come again and will tell our friends too! A terrific addition to Lake Mary!
