Great little cafe. This is a great little Cafe. I had to come because nearly everyone I work with says it is a nice place to go. They are not wrong. Bright, cheery, owners and staff who are friendly. Nice menu, with a wonderful option to add protein (Mahi, Salmon, chicken, etc) to any salad for $7. Tomato soup was awesome!! (Yea, no sugar added) . Salad was fresh with ripe veggies and good portion. Fish slightly dry, but hard to control when you ask for blackened. We plan to return and this will go into rotation, however, at $42 for lunch, not too often. This is a common occurence in PB County. If its good, you pay for it.
THE BEST!!! Dont miss out…. I went to the Pelican Caf after looking around for good places to dine around Singer Island area where I was vacationing for a long weekend. I work in food and wine and tend to do my homework before choosing dining destinations. I read great reviews about the Pelican and it lived up to all the praise. The food was exceptional, service outstanding and the owner (Mark) is one of the greatest hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. When you walk into the Pelican you feel as if you are walking into his home and he makes sure you leave full, happy. I’d go again just to hang out with him!!If you go (which you must), you have to get the Hawaiian style calamari as an appetizer. It’s like nothing I’ve ever had before and would eat it every day if I could. For entrees we all got something different, but swapped dishes and each was better then the next. I’d recommend the linguini with clam sauce (it’s not oily at all and amazingly fresh) or the shrimp fra divalo (it’s not on the menu, but Mark will whip it up for you). Also, it has a great wine list to choose from. We got a bottle (or 2) of Gavi di Gavi which was a great fit for our meals. If you aren’t staying near Singer Island, this place is worth the trip. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. Make a reservation and make sure to meet Mark!!
We live about 20 minutes from the restaurant and my wife and I decided to take the kids (7 & 4) to breakfast and searched the web and found these reviews and gave it a try. The place is really clean and great looking. It was packed and took about 30 minutes to get the food, but we were fine and they brought over coloring books and crayons for the kids. The prices were a little high and the bill came to around $40 for breakfast. The service and food was great and I would definately go again.
On the downhill slide. This place was amazing a year or so ago, but it’s gone steadily downhill since. They’ve cut the menu back, the service is slipping, and overall, it’s just not that great. There are other restaurants nearby that are much better.
A truly sublime breakfast experience. While on vacation down here, we went to Pelican Cafe for breakfast twice, for two reasons:1. Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict: This is like steak and eggs meets eggs Benedict, elevated to ambrosia status. Even the hungriest inhaler will pause to savor a bite of this stuff.2. House-made Donuts: You can order them individually or by the dozen, and there are various flavors, but the blueberry ones are the most sinful. I’m not even a fan of donuts, but these are addictive, so moist and melt-in-your-mouth good. Even better, you get a free sampling of three donuts for the table with your breakfast order. The only criticism I could possibly give is there is no child-size portion to order, and no a-la-carte; you have to order an adult-size plate of food or share yours.Their coffee is also extremely good, and the nautical beach villa ambiance just invites you to unwind even before the day gets started.
INCREDIBLE food, wonderful atmosphere, and friendly service! I will definitely eat here again.
Had lunch here today. I had shrimp salad sandwich and it was very good. The only complaint is that I had to eat it with a fork and knife. The sandwich would have fallen apart if I tried to pick it up. The service today was good, but no one was there to seat us when we arrived. Overall the food here is good to exceptional. Their breakfast is also very good.
