Go thirsty, not hungry. There is no menu for food in this place, so if you want to go drown your sorrows, better bring a pizza along, or have one delivered to you at the bar. It’s a seedy, odd-ball beer bar, filled with colorful and dubious, but usually very friendly characters right out of a Hemingway novel. At times it might not feature a full compliment of teeth for the assembled patrons, but it’s never boring. One very interesting feature is the great set of b/w murals featuring classic teams from the NY Yankees/Boston Red Sox rivalry. Long-time baseball fans will have fun checking out the very good portrayals of Yaz and friends.
