  Met friends from Orlando for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Attentive service, interesting menu and well prepared and presented dishes. Everything was good and we will be back to try dinner.If you’re in the area and looking to avoid the chains, we’d highly recommend this place.

  This restaurant is a revelation. The owner, and head chef, clearly takes pride in every aspect of the restaurant, from the food to the decor. He is obviously passionate about his craft and it is manifestly evident in everything we experienced. Everything is made from scratch and the food is, in a word, transcendent. From the homemade goat cheese spread on the from-scratch gluten-free bread, to the Spanish bean soup, to the ropa veja, I was completely blown away. He even coaxed us into trying octopus which tasted like steak! Or, at least his preparation did. We closed out with a deconstructed key lime pay that was amazing and not soon forgotten.Emerson, the thoughtful gentleman behind the bar (where we were seated), was the embodiment of excellent customer service. He was attentive without being obtrusive, offered excellent conversation, and was polite and engaging without being obsequious.I cannot recommend Nineteen 61 more highly, and I will unquestionably be back!

  Excellent food. Nice ambience. Have gone for both lunch and dinner. Plan to go again.
