Charmingly Eclectic…. Bravo to the Red Door for trying something different by tweaking their menu to add unexpected twists. We dined there for the first time Saturday night and were very pleased with the quality of the food and the excellent service. Our server Stormy was a real delight; very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine selections. Can’t wait to return to try some of the other items on the menu. So nice to patronize a non-chain restaurant!
Hyped Up for No Reason. The live music creates a great place to relax with a few drinks but the food was definitely lacking flavor. We got the Door Pizza and the Spare Ribs and both were bland. I felt like we could have made the same quality food at home; the food lacked flavor period. Overall we would not recommend this place unless your just planning on having a few drinks and listening to music.
Staff stinks-make sure you check your bill as they add things or double charge if they think you have had a few and won’t notice. Food is hit or miss-sometimes great, sometimes not, but not worth the risk. We kept going back BC we really wanted to like it, but won’t give it another try.
Nice ambiance, too expensive. Rather expensive for what you get. over 60 bucks for 2 mediocre salads, 3 beers,1 dessert with coffee, and a root beer. wasn’t impressed. service was very pleasant after a rather strange greeting telling us a table we wanted to sit at on an almost empty patio was reserved, although it had no sign on it. not impressed enough to go back considering the prices.
You might go here-once. Very pricey for mediocre food and ambiance. Wedge salad, $9? Glass of root beer $5? No normal tea or soft drinks for those who don’t drink wine or liquor. You’ll spend close to $60 for two dinners of salad and flat bread and hamburger. Olive appetizer was 9 olives from 3 different jars-$7.There are much better places for less money.
Finally made it to the Red Door. Not being drinkers anymore it has never been high on my list to visit our local wine bar. But I’m glad we went. The outdoor seating is nice and pleasant even on a Florida summer night. The staff very friendly and attentive. The food organic and delicious. They buy every thing locally from farmers markets so the menu varies. Tonight we had a goat cheese an arugula pizza and the antipasti platter. The pizz was well cooked with an excellent crust. A bit too much goat cheese for me but that didn’t stop me from eating half of it. It’s good for two to share. I Highly recommend the Red Door as a place to relax, hear some great live music and enjoy foo and friends.21 Jul, 2012A very enjoyable platter. It combines homemade pickles an hummus with a selection of olives and some prosciutto. A generous amount of crostini to spread everything on as well as fresh bits of asagio cheese. I found the celery and carrots out of place but other than that it was excellent. $17 seems a bit steep but you are paying for the homemade ingredients and imported goodies. Good for 2 to share
Date night with hubby, was looking for a romantic grown up atmosphere. Found it here. Had some amazing wine and food. It was a chilly Friday night, we sat outside by fire and relaxed. Live music was nice, service was excellent (thanks Bobby!) we’ll be back. I only wish there were more indoor seating… In case of rain…
