Dissapointed. I took my wife and some friends visiting from out of town on Friday. I had heard about the place for years and it was recommended by several friends. I was really looking forward to some good creole food. It didn’t happen. My wife ordered the fried chicken basket, it was nothing more than what you generally get off a kids menu. I ordered the fried catfish. There was basically no flavor, very unusual for creole food. Our friends had wings and blackened Mahi which they both seemed to like, neither a traditional Cajun dish. We also ordered a side of hush puppies as appetizers along with fried crawfish tails. The tails were good. The hush puppies didn’t come until after everyone was done with diner and they tasted like fried, undercooked dough. The server was slow and shared way to much information. Everyone was nice though. All in all If I were to go back it would only be to saddle up to the bar. There has to be a better place in the area for good Cajun cuisine.
Great crawfish & cajun house. Love it! great food! great music! great service!
Excellent food in a pub type atmosphere. The fried catfish is to die for!
Horrible food.. The staff was really nice, and the atmosphere was very comfortable; however, the food was horrible. My wife and I tried several different meals and none of them were remotely appetizing. The Po Boys were bland, the sauteed alligator was nothing but garlic salt and more salt, and even something as simple as a Bananas Foster was poorly prepared. They’ve also been out of crawfish for the past 2 months. I really wanted to like Rosey Baby since I absolutely love cajun cuisine. This experience though, was a low point in our Florida dining.
Had Great time at rosey baby the staff was wonderful food was great n the music was great also . Rosey will be our new hang out spot for my family n i, thank you for showing us wonderful time
Has been a staple for my friends and I for years. Great food, friendly service consistently. If you live in plantation or sunrise, it will become a second home.
Not a good experience. I made the trek to Ft. Lauderdale looking for good creole food. Unfortunately,Rosey baby is a complete disappointment. When you firt enter, you encounter a bar where smoking is allowed. How this is allowed in a restaurant these days is beyond me. The smoke smell permeated the entire restaurant. I ordered an appetizer of fried crawfish legs. The portion was small and the best thing I could say about it was the sauce. We then ordered dinner, crawfish etoufee and red beans and sausage. Each had a small sampling of catfish nuggets (which actually weren’t too bad). Both were basically the same rice recipe, one with crawfish and the other with sausage. I found three small pieces of sausage in my order, and a few red beans mixed up in large bowl of seasoned rice. The price, $14.95 for the crawfish and $12.95 for the sausage and beans. Needless to say, it was hardly worth the price. I’ve made better with a box of seasoned cajun rice with a little hot sauce. My wife ordered the hurricane drink. If you were expecting Pat O’briens, forget it. While we were there, a band was setting up for a 9:30 gig. Most people come here to drink, smoke, and watch a band. But if you are looking for authentic New Orleans food, forget it here.
