Clancey’s is now closed. Went for dinner on April 15, only to find a big ‘For Sale’ sign on the building & a thank-you posted on the marquee sign.Noted posts on Facebook seemd they closed around April 01, 2015 – too bad, as one of the few places w/good Reubens.

Rude at Clancey’s. Waitresses need more instruction on menus. The one we had was nice but didn’t know her menu. Asked for clarification on bill. Owner /manager came over. He was extremely rude. We will not eat there again.

Ultimate Neighborhood Restaurant. What a nice place to come to during a busy week of work. Located just around the corner from Whiskey Creek, this is a great place to pop into for a really good, more American than Irish themed, restaurant. The tacky Party City Irish themed decorations should be in the dumpster!Despite below average attention from the hostesses and cashiers (including casual conversation between co-workers using profanities), the wait staff was very good and knowledgeable (thanks, Eric).Nothing fancy and a bit of the old charm is gone…the dollar bills, the licence plates and beer cans are all less prominent these days, Part of what used to make this an awesome experience has gone by the way, but there is still a bit of a charm to be enjoyed. The bars on the windows definitely are not to be included as a pro…Bathrooms were fairly clean, but given the light crowd, they should be spotless, IMO (maybe less chit chat among the front people…if the profanities were in regard to the constant cleaning of the bathrooms I may be more understanding). We’ll come back and enjoy Clancey’s for what it is, but I would not suggest that an out-of-towner search for Irish themed restaurants and go out of their way to visit.Overall grade of experience during season: B

Great Neighborhood restaurant, not a bar.. I have to say I originally walked into Clancey’s with high hopes. I just moved into the area and was expecting more of an Irish Pub. Unfortunately despite a beer can heavy decor (which I really got a kick out of) there wasn’t a proper bar. That shortcoming aside I have to say Clanceys has served me some of my favorite sandwiches in the area. Specifically the steak and the corned beef. They are awesome, sandwich wise you can’t go wrong, like gotta try it. I just wish it was more of a local bar/restaurant and I would be there much more. It felt like an independently owned and operated Perkins. Don’t let that deter you, I still have hopes that Clanceys will morph into the cool place I know it could be.
