South Beach is nothing amazing, shy of its location. The atmosphere is your typical Floridian seafood restaurant. It is located on the beach in Boca Grande, so that’s pretty nice to have. They also had a couple turtle nesting grounds right outside as well, which I personally like. The main thing that was a big turn off was the very high prices for what you get. They had four star prices for two star food. Portions were good and the food tastes great, but you cannot justify those types of prices for this particular restaurant.Another major thing that they do wrong is charge way too much for kids meals. Again, the food portions and quality is good, but the average price per kids meal, including the drink, was $12.00. I understand that their rent and taxes may be high due to their location, but kids meals are not where they need to be making their money. I would recommend that they charge $6.00 per kids meal and include the drink for that price.
Terrific dinner! We started with the coconut shrimp – really tasty! The blackened grouper tacos were amazing. We had a lovely waitress who was very attentive. We also tried the mahi mahi which was tender and delicious. For dessert we tried the key lime pie and the brownie sundae – both were yummy! We will be back!
