Good food -ambience!. Have dined serveral times here while on vacation at FMB. One of the best salad bars around that I can find! Also, the soups are to die for!!! Good breads and deserts. The Mac& Cheese is good as is the alfredo, but the spegetti is always dried out. And, I usually have to ask to have some sauce put into it before I get a bowl….if someone is behind the bar. Overall, a great place to eat. Wish they had one in Alabama!!!12 Feb, 2013Chiperdean. Have dined twice in the past week while visiting Fort Myers Beach. Great place to get a fresh salad with all fresh veggies……Great soups, and chickenpot pie……great breads. The other hot foods weren’t as good, all based on southwest (Mexican) cusine……Mac and Cheese was only okay, but the Sweet Tomatoes in Orlando has real speghetti and its wonderful……wish this one would get off the Mexican kick…..otherwise very enjoyable.
DECEMBER 2018Sweet Tomatoes, Tamiami Trail, Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.This is for all you cheapskates veggies head. They serve nothing but vegetables or so called healthy stuff .They give you small plates to fill up on the helpless plants treat. Then down the the road smaller soup bowls to torture you to eat the more hardy stuff. Plus continue to offer coupons to give the out, to stuff your face…. The food is not bad just cheap & filling.In theory you can eat all u want but there have been buffets that kick you out for stuffing you tummy.I must say it was empty at 11 AM on a Sunday….but by high noon filled with blue & gray hair old retiress, lots of rug ratz, and young family scurrying around. They were filling the tray and stuffing their mouths off of the plates from the soup & pizza counters. They were ravenous coyotes getting the belly filled. Glad I was out of here. I was using gift card so no money of mind going here. A drink $3 bucks…lunch meal $10…..bucksI will be back just to used my gift card. November 2017Sweet Tomatoes, Tamiami Trl., Ft. It is for mostly health crazies and veggie heads.I got a free birthday meal.All of the salads are fresh, crispy and good for the body.I went here for the soups. I got a chicken and dumpling, a so call chili, a udon soup, cream of mushroom ( over power by bacon, who would have known) Plus a few other. They give you small bowls so you can sample & find out what turns you on. There is fresh bread, rolls and pasta. A dessert station is also available .I do not recommend the pasta unless you are from Florida or over 65. Here is chatter and my 2 cents on the food.Well the only reason this carnivore went here is because I got a $25 gift card for free.I will say the staff was outstanding in helping me. It was very clean. Salad fresh.The food. I had 3 soups. A zucchini , clam chowder and mushroom. The zucchini was fine since I had no comparison. The ‘room and clowder. Just plain suck. It states all made from scratch.They need to get new recipes. Plenty of ingredients just no good flavor. The cheese pizza bland. Mac’n cheese watery. Spaghetti only veggies, NO GARLIC, horrible.Well if you go against nature and are a vegetarian you deserve this nasty stufff…Good salad. I have heard and seen the ads for Sweet tomatoes CA & FL. I prefer mom and pops places. But I must say my experience was very positive.I wanted a salad buffet and this seem to be one or two of the only game in the area.Its one price all you can eat salad soup & so call pizza stuff.The soups I tried were clam chowder( too much bacon flavor, large pieces of potatoes, ok) chili soup just that a soup ok tasting. The minestrone was all right lots of tomato flavor. Bread was hot and fresh very tasty. AHHH salad bar many different choices crisp and fresh.Place was wonderfully clean and Staff was outstandingly (lol) helpful.So when the veggie inside me hits I will come here for my salad craving. Note I was here at 1100 AM on a Tuesday. Going later you MAY have a different experience
Yum!!!!!. My favorites are the WonTon Chicken Happiness and Joan’s Broccoli Madness!!!!! Also love the lemon muffins and the lemon pudding cake (I believe April is lemon month….Woo Hoo….Just around the corner!!!)
Unique concept for me. Walk in the door and grab a plate. Fix yourself a salad with fresh choices and pay at the end. Very tasty first plate. Several soups to choose from. My choice was clam chowder. Good call! Hot and flavorful. Breads were very fresh and caused a severe dent in my calorie count for the day. Whole wheat biscuits and sourdough bread caused this badness! Are already planning a repeat and we haven’t left the table. Two pudgy thumbs up!
Good. Overall good. Best thing to me was the Clam chowder. Don’t expect perfection, but expect to at least be satisfied.
Muffins. All the muffins are good, my favorite is the fruit melody with the sweet butter03 May, 2011Excellent salad bar, just sad that when I moved to SD there is nothing like this and I crave salad bar all the time. There muffins are really good to.
For a wonderful salad great soups made from scratch and some pasta options eat here!
