My husband and I have eaten at Thai Star a dozen times since they opened. We have always had a deliciously prepared dinner or lunch. I could eat there every week ! I love the curry dishes the most. Excellent soups and appetitizers. This is a family owned and staffed operation. Bill the owner is very nice man. He usually mans the front while his wife cooks. Great food!
Soup was great but entrees left us a little disappointed.. We’ve been wanting to try this place since a great review in the News Press. We ordered Tom Kha Kai which was delicious, followed by Sweet & Sour Pork, Ginger Beef & Cashew Chicken. The food was brought out in a timely fashion and the staff could not have been more pleasant but this did not make up for the fact that the only time I tasted Ginger was when I bit into a slice. The sauce just didn’t have the robust ginger flavour that you expect from Thai cuisine. The 2 other entrees were equally unimpressive. While I am glad that there is a decent Thai restaurant in this part of Lee County, I will continue to go over the bridge when I want a great Thai meal.29 Jan, 2015Tom Kha Kai. Thai Star Disappointing. This was my first time at this restaurant and I was not impressed with the food. I had their house salad which was nothing more than iceberg lettuce with a few cucumber slices and tomato. It cost almost $6.00. I also ordered basil chicken and there were no basil leaves in the dish. When I asked about the lack of basil, they said it was in the chili sauce? There was no basil taste in the dish at all and it tasted more sweet than savory. The dish was very disappointing and the service was average, especially since they were not busy. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good, authentic Thai food.
Great service. I mostly like the Panang curry, and the coconut noodle soup. One time, it was busy there they were kindly fast enough to serve us and it was delicious. But there was a table behind us being so rude to the waiter. The customers behind us has no sympathy they wanted there order asap and was very picky as there order got out, the man quickly said I don’t want this? (Are you serious!!! You got your order!!) I was about to question them, but I know yelling at them would not help. Our food has come out and it was absolutely amazing!! Would come here again and not to see those rude customers ever again!!

Best thai restaurant. We tried all the local thai restaurants and found Thai Star to be far superior to the others. We have been eating here every week for years now. Favorite dish is the Green Curry. Have tried many of the dished and enjoyed them all.
