Ate early dinner here today -had the shrimp with vegetables and white sauce as the server recommended. The shrimp was cooked well, but didn’t seem especially fresh (a bit fishy) and lacked flavor as did the entire dish. The little flavor it had I didn’t like. The egg roll tasted like it came from the freezer in the grocery store, or worse. The pork fried rice was OK, but no better. I will not be back and do not recommend. Gee, the server kept telling me they had been in business 43 years. You would think in all that time they could learn how to cook a descent meal. I’d rather eat at a chain -very disappointing. It was in a strip mall so I couldn’t tell if any of the cars were for them. When I entered because there were only about 3 other tables in use at 415pm on a Sa I suspected I was in for a bad meal. It turned out to be so. It appears the locals no longer eat here and the reviews haven’t kept up.

The Mongolian Beef was great with a huge portion as was the Szechuan Chicken.The staff behaved badly. Between the three teenage girls that sat behind the hostess both and gossiped loudly about their lives and the older waitress that dumped two trays of silverware onto the glass top table directly next to us – it was nerve grating to say the least.Verdict – If in the area I would get takeout.

Great food. I have been going to China Star for quite a while now as it reminds me of restaurants in New York. I consider this the best Chinese restaurant within 20 miles. The food has always been top quality and very tasty. I had an exchange student from Taiwan stay with me for 3 weeks. I took him to eat here and he could not believe the large portion sizes. He also commented that the food was just like his grandmother makes. I could not give a higher recommendation.I tried Jan-Bo and did not like the flavors or the hair in my food. I never went back.
Great Chinese food and the Pu Pu appetizer is a must and a meal unto itself. Portions are huge so expect leftovers. Very satisfying and just around the corner from us!
