My husband and I stopped to eat here as we rolled through town on our way home. We hit it about the time the church crowd was headed there for Sunday lunch. The place was packed. (Usually that’s a indicator of where good food is). I got the Pig Pen sandwich. It was huge and there was no way to eat it all in one sitting. It was yummy but very heavy. The sweet tea was just like my mama makes it and the staff were super nice. I would eat there again.

We’d go back!. We had to go to Live Oak due to an auction we’d won for our business. I was worried that we wouldn’t find any decent food in such a tiny town, but I’m happy to say that I was wrong. For a very fair price, you can get an entree, a side, a trip to the salad bar, and bread. The salad bar is very fresh and has a generous assortment of items. The onion rings are made fresh, and the fried chicken is tasty and well-seasoned. My husband got the chopped steak platter, and he said his was also very good. If we have occasion to go up that way again, we will definitely go back!
Good variety of food cooked to order. Something for everyone. The Steaks are always good but the best is the fried chicken if you have the time. They don’t cook it till you order it so it takes 20 or 30 minutes. Worth the wait.

An appetizing alternative…. The Dixie Grill is a comfortable southern style restaurant located in the heart of Live Oak. Although it is slightly off the beaten path, the diner has a variety of appetizers, salads, entre’s, and deserts to satisfy most cravings. Despite being a couple of miles from the interstate, the Dixie Grill is an alternative to the fast food kings of the highway. Plus, it so good!
