Mmmmm. First time having chicken and waffles, fiance waited over an hour in Melissa’s line while I hit 3 trucks at the food truck bazaar, but it was totally worth it! Even with a surprise health inspection with ~80 people in line Melissa was still cranking out waffles like a champ! The waffle is huuuge, crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. Wish I would have gotten a little more syrup, but it was still great! Chicken was crispy and was super juicy, great flavor!
Do you like waffles?. I really liked the chicken and waffles here. The chicken was hot and crispy, and although the waffle was not crispy on the outside, it was really good, and the whole point is so you can make it a sandwich. Next time I will ask if they can make it crispier. I had Roscoe’s in Hollywood last month, and I have to say Melissa’s, for just opening, is pretty good in comparison. Lots of potential here. I’d add cinnamon or powdered sugar too. Hope to try the shrimp next!
