This place is not what it used to be. It needs an emergency overhaul ASAP. The food was mediocre, and the restaurant itself was pretty near filthy. Someone rescue this place fast!
Authentic and delicious. After reading the reviews for this restaurant I realized many of them were 1 or more years old. I believe the ownership has changed since then and a certified sous chef is currently working there. I have dined there several times over the last few months and the food was always excellent. I ordered off the regular menu which was less costly and very fresh.
Do not eat here. So-so food flavor and terrible customer service. Food arrived wrong and soggy and owner Kourush (sp?) blamed others for the mistake/quality and would not fix the order. With so many other options, no need to return. EVER.
Stay Away. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, and considering how much I love middle eastern food, believe me, I tried hard to like the place, but after my third visit, I gave up. will never go back again. I only go there at lunch time, and the place always seems to be empty except for two to three tables max. this by itself should have turned me away, because this is an indication that the food can’t be expected to be fresh, they roll all the food left from lunch to dinner, and from dinner to the next day, just over spice it and over cook it and serve it with a smile. The service: they always make mistakes when it comes to my bill, no exception, once they charged me for three children instead of two, or charged adult price for a child, I always had to fight for the bill and have them fix it. The Food: let’s face it aside from the catchy name and the little middle eastern decoration outside and in the lobby, there is nothing special about the atmosphere that justifies the high price compared to most buffet restaurants in the area. one would hope for the food to make up for it. but the food is of a poor to average quality, very limited selection, the meet menu has only three options, chicken and beef kabobs, and Tandoori style baked chicken thighs and drumsticks. The chicken tastes like rubber, in our first time we didn’t know what it was, I thought it was omelette mixed with chicken brought. the chicken drumsticks are tasteless, or have a strong smell of lemon, which comes from marinating old chicken on lemon juice to remove the smell before cooking and serving, so cheap. the beef kabobs is the worst, you can’t not smell the stinky smell of old expired meet, my wife smelled it and she felt like vomiting, I stopped my children from eating it. that and the tzatziki sauce leaves a stingy taste in your mouth. I was scared of getting sick. we politely and quietly let our waitress know that the meet was bad, she took our plate back to the kitchen, two minutes later the owner came by he was all defensive stating how their food is fresh, and the last nail in the coffin was when he said that the problem is in our taste, he literary said that we had bad taste. and he couldn’t care less about our opinion. I said that we can’t eat that food, paid for the $45.00 bill, tipped the waitress on top of that because she was doing her job. hopefully this review will save someone’s time and money, and more importantly health.
Great food!. Had a nice dinner with the belly dancers. Took a few neighbors who had never tried Ali Baba and they loved it as well. Never can get enough of the buffet. From the really tasty salads and appetizers to the wonderful grilled Kabobs. Wish I could go everyday I would be in heaven. My sister is a vegetarian and she really loved the eggplant dish and the variety of salads on the buffet. If you were to go to any other Middle Eastern place and order an appetizer and entree it would cost more than this buffet.
Love the Buffet!. Ali Baba House of Kabob in Longwood is a place that I have made several visits to for their delicious Mediterranean buffet.The ATMOSPHERE Spacious with plenty of seating, there is a small stage where I would assume they have entertainment at peak times and the place is filled with many different Hookahs for sale.The SERVICE CourteousThe FOOD although I do believe that they have a full menu of Mediterranean cuisine, I have only eaten the lunch buffet. With so many options to chose from I have always been very pleased.On my last visit I noticed they had a special Tues – Thurs where the lunch buffet (soda included) was $9.95 from 11am until 2pm. What a great deal! They offer a variety of Salads, Tasty dips like Hummus and Babaganoush, Roasted Potatoes, Falafel and several different Soups, Rice and Couscous, Kabobs, Chicken and other Meat dishes, and at least two different Mediterranean Desserts.This is one restaurant that I usually like to try a little bit of everything because it all tastes so good, and when I am feeling like eating something of this genre this is one of the first places that come to mind.
The food was fairly good but the prices too high. And as someone wrote before they did charged us for the toddlers!! The kabobs were good and the grilled chicken. Also the rice and salads. The falafel is not that good or the other meats. Half price would have been fair.
