Great start to my morning. Situated along old 301 just north of Whitfield Rd next to the 7-11, Ham & Eggs is off the beaten path of most restaurants. More of a local place for people working in the area, they serve up large portions of breakfast and lunch items. I stopped in this morning for breakfast.Being a Saturday and early, it was not at all busy. After looking over the menu I decided on their Country Griddle and when I asked what was the most popular dish, that was it. Normally griddle would indicate pancakes or French toast, but not in this case. It was a plate of nicely seasoned hash browns topped with sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms, topped with cheese, eggs and country gravy. Doesnt that sound good? It truly was. It all came together very well and the gravy was not salty.I set the closing time at 3:00 but it could be later depending on business that day. I felt very welcomed, service was friendly, and the food was ready within just a few minutes. Ironically I didnt see ham & eggs highlighted on the menu, although I have no doubt you could get it. I believe there was an eggs and pick your meat option along with a couple of pancakes.
