This is a neat place with lots of things to look at both inside and out. Be sure to sit on the screened in deck overlooking the water. Food was decent. Very family-friendly environment.

Yum! It’s hard to find good frog legs! The bbq chips as an appetizer is amazing. My boyfriend got the fried catfish and was disappointed because the weren’t fried in corn meal (he’s from Mississippi). It was a really slow night and there was only one table other than us and a few people at the bar. I’d like to go back on a busier night so the waitress doesn’t feel awkward like she seemed to be with us.

Very usual, yet mediocre. What an unusual place with its dcor and menu offerings. There are so many interesting things to see inside and the covered patio seating outside looks out to an old Florida scene. It is definitely an unusual place.I dont want to be too critical about the food. I played tourist, ordering the River Platter. It has gator bites, three large frog legs, and a catfish fillet. There are likely reasons gator and frog legs are not popular dinner items so when I say the gator was chewy it may be the best that can be done. To me the frog legs tasted like chicken, Id rather just have chicken. The catfish was fine. It was a large plate of food. I tried the homemade chips as one of my sides and they were just ok, not seasoned but crispy.Another person at my table had the Baked Stuffed Sole Fillet and was not impressed with the stuffing, expecting a lump of crabmeat hidden in there someplace. I got into a discussion with our server regarding another dish someone at my table ordered, Fish & Chips. She insisted the Fish & Chips come with 2 sides, one being the chips. I countered that would be Fish and 2 sides, or Fish & Chips and one side, as chips are part of the entre. I did not prevail. So the food was mediocre, except for dessert. Two of us ordered the River Bottom Pie, a Linger Lodge legend. It was like a sundae and was great, and larger than it needed to be.Service was also mediocre. We were there for a late lunch so we did not see any of the entertainment the Linger Lodge offers. Quiet for our meal, it may be a totally different place later, and much more fun. I just dont know. Visit for the fun of being there, not so much for good food but like me you have an opportunity to try some unusual dishes you can talk about with your friends.

Fun Times, Very Unique Decor. Great time, great place, lot’s of bizarre, stuffed animals all over. I had the catfish basket. Cooked to perfection. The waitress very friendly and enjoyed conversing, recommended the catfish and it was well worth it. About $10 for about a 1 pound fillet, fries and great slaw. A nice cold Sam Adams pint for $2. I’ll become a regular. Great prices, good food and good amount of food for the prices. My friend had the stuffed flounder platter. He said it was excellent. It was twice the size of the stuffed flounder platter that Anna Maria Oyster House offers, with their crabless paste, they called stuffing, for the same price.

You Gotta Go. Okay, this place is a little hard to find. GPS devices will not take you here, but it’s worth it to ask for directions. We love it here. The food is always great and the atmosphere is unbeatable. It’s the place that I always take my visiting family. Seems we always get the same server too and she is excellent. I highly recommend!

Definitely Stop!. What a cool spot! I had a bowl of gator chowder. The gator was ground and tasted a lot like chewy ground turkey. I thought the broth was delicious! I also had a fried catfish basket that was very sweet and tasty. The service was exceptional albeit they were not very busy.
