Best Roti in South Florida. I’ve been to many roti shops. This, by far, is the best. I found out about it from a co-worker who was from Trinidad. After you have roti from Shalama’s you won’t want to eat anyone else’s. If you are looking for a fancy place to eat, this in not the place to eat. It is just a little hole in the wall with about 6-7 tables. But, it has always seemed very clean. One of the younger guys that works there is nice and very friendly. An older guy is not rude, but just all business, not interested in being friends. So I am always happy when the younger guy is there 🙂 The food is so good. I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. Everything is always fresh. I can understand why because if you go around lunch or dinner, the line is usually up to the door. I usually get the vegetable roti, because I love vegetables and theirs is always is fresh and full of flavor. You can actually tell what vegetables you are eating. I’ve had the beef roti and that is good too. You can have spicy or not. But, their hot sauce is VERY hot so unless you are used to VERY hot food, be careful. It is kind of hard to find. If you didn’t know it was there, you may miss it. Its tucked in the corner of the strip center north of Coconut Creek Parkway where Women’s In Distress Thrift Store is and the old Hollywood Video store was. It in the NE corner.09 Sep, 2014Vegetable Roti. The vegetable roti is just just wonderful vegetables. It always taste so fresh. The bread, I believe called paratha is light, fresh and full of flavor.
