4 of us came in for dinner one evening recently for the first time and we all ended up enjoying our meal and time in the comfortable and nicely decorated restaurant. We decided to each have soup – Won Ton, Egg Drop, and Hot and Sour – they were all hot and delicious. My Hot and Sour was chock-a-block full of goodies and flavor! We also enjoyed the 10-piece steamed dumplings as an appetizer before receiving our large, fresh, and crispy egg rolls that came with our combination dinners. The hot dumplings and accompanying sauce were quickly enjoyed, as were the eggrolls. Our gentle server was always polite and professional, and she was careful to ensure that our appetizers were finished before beginning to bring entrees, which we appreciated. Between the 4 of us we had the Sesame Chicken, Pepper Chicken, Szechwan Beef, and Moo Goo Gai Pan. All of the combination dinner meals were plentiful, quite hot, very nicely plated, and incorporated fresh vegetables – the broccoli in my dad’s Sesame Chicken was bright green and appropriately crispy. After the delicious meal, our server brought a small square of delightful cream cake that completely topped off a great meal. We will not hesitate to return to this peaceful and tasty Chinese and Thai kitchen! Biloxi Bob

Terrible Chinese food. Menu a as misleading, almond chicken is not almond chicken. Bourbon chicken had wa term sauce. Chicken didn’t taste fresh. Mixed Chinese Vega tables was 90 percent rice and Vega table no sauce or seasoning. Egg noodles for soup was stale. Called to complain and was told this is there food. Terrible Chinese restaurant.
Worse than Chengs. Cook says it’s owned by the same people who own Chengs in the Villages on Hiway 466 but the food is worse. Tasteless egg foo young, egg rolls like shoe leather, hot and sour soup that is neither, and a sweet roll for dessert that s straight from Walmart. Whoever heard of a sweet roll for dessert at a Chinese restaurant. Ate there at lunch time on a nice Thursday and there were only 6 customers. Eat there quickly–they won’t be around long.
This place is great. Sit down dining in a very pretty space. Service was fast and friendly. Portions were large, fresh, and hot (thermal). Especially liked the imperial beef, soft shelled crab, and orange beef. A definite step or two up from the other Chinese food found in this area.
Best Chinese Food in Ocala!. Golden Palace is amazing! Their food is fresh, tasty, and of a high quality. The restaurant’s dining area is tastefully decorated, and the staff are very nice and a great asset to the restaurant. I’ve tried a number of dishes, and each one has been extremely good- my favorite so far is the beef with broccoli. The sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, bourbon chicken, and house chicken are all very good as well. Give this restaurant a try- you will soon become a regular!
