New and Improved!. If you liked this restaurant before……………then you will LOVE it now!!! New owners as of July, 2014 and the improvements made to restaurant, staff, service, cleanliness, and food has been HUGE!!!! SO nice to be greeted by friendly staff, clean surroundings, excellent food, prompt and awesome servers!! I will definitely recommend River’s Edge Restaurant (formerly Jan & Al’s) as THE place to go for authentic downhome cooking!
Charming Experience / Wonderful Food. We recently visited this charming restaurant and can’t wait to go back! Loved the atmosphere the minute we walked in and were greeted with a friendly smile and cheerful hello. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. They make you feel like family and the homemade pastries are to die for!!! LOVE this place and can’t wait to go back when we’re in town!
Just had the worst experience ever at this restaurant! Would not ever recommend this place. If you are hungry or want friendly service DO NOT stop here, just keep driving. There are other options in both direction. My boyfriend and I are shocked that there are two people who gave this place a good review. I’m not usually one to complain, but this place really is horrible. Rude server, the food comes out randomly so the table doesn’t eat at the same time, and incorrect.
YUMMY!!!!. We ran into this place on accident and boy are we glad we did! We walked in and were greeted w a happy smiling women (Jan) . She sat us down and we talked from the time we arrived from the time we left (we did stop chatting while we ate, lol). Very friendly and let me tell you..HOME COOKIN to the T! My one son had fish and chips, my other son had a burger and I had an Italian soup and an Italian dish and OMG-DELISH!!!! While your waiting on you soup she brings out the HUGE cornbread, right out of the oven with real butter on top. Mmmm Mmmm GOOD! Everything was Delicious! Our drinks never ran out and I felt like I was back home in Staten Island w my family, Then after the kids were done she offered them free ice cream, but they were too full. We were sent home with hugs and kisses and to come back again, which we definitely will. What a great place and I highly recommend Jan and AL’s Country Kitchen.
