Under new ownership, now called Courtney’s stuffed burgers- the burgers, dogs, salads are great here, just don’t get the wings- they’re clearly pre-cooked and then reheated when ordered (mine came out cold but fully cooked on the inside). This causes the wings to be soggy and just not good at a all.
Better than Five Guys!. We stumbled into The Burger Shack for a late lunch at 3pm. We had the single hamburgers with fixings plus the FREE fries (apparently you get free fries if the Dolphins win, what luck did we have that the Dolphins played Jacksonville on Sunday). Anyway, the burgers were delicious with a fresh meat pattie, grilled mushrooms, BBQ sauce and a super soft, fresh bun. And the hand-cut fries were hot and tasty! Nice, casual, super clean, surroundings with a surf board theme. Can’t wait to go back and bring my family.

He had the audacity to yell at a paying customer in front of the entire restaurant simply for using one of his own coupons at his establishment. Um, what do you expect?!? If you print coupons for your business and they’re not expired, then you have to honor them. Plain and simple. Angry owner must not be doing well financially with this restaurant as why else would he yell at a customer for no good reason. He also treats his staff just as unprofessionally from what we’ve seen, yelling at them from his office chair in the corner of the dining area. What kind of restaurant owner sits there all day long, making both customers and staff uncomfortable? We’re never coming back as the food is not worth the aggravation nor do we want our hard earned money supporting this kind of disrespectful behavior on the owner’s part. Bah-humbug!!!!
It’s a great addition to Hobe Sound. Burgers are great for the money, hot dogs are a little pricier ($5) for chili and cheese. Onion rings aren’t worth it, they’re also around $5 for an order of 6. Cheese is too spicy for the fries. Clean place, but the past two times we’ve visited the cook staff came out to sit in the dining room (there wasn’t much business) and were seen eating and drinking and then returning to the kitchen without seeing if they washed their hands. Will return, but mainly because Hobe Sound lacks any quick eat restaurants.
We love the quality of the different burgers, the healthy version, like chicken and veggie burger. Food is fresh, service is excellent. Better than 5 Guys!!
I was skeptical, but burgers were great, Fries were good (they use nacho cheese, which is a little zesty), and prices were reasonable. Can’t wait to go back. I would say it’s better than Five Guys.
This is my new spot. After the beach I head over to the shack and order a nice fresh burger, a shake, and decide to order a $1.50 draft bud light. I love the environment, food, and the staff and have been coming every Sunday since they’ve opened. Welcome to hobe sound!
