Came here for lunch in a recommendation. Was very pleased with the food. We split an order of oysters on the half shell. Then I had the soft shell crab sandwich that was offered as their lunch special. It was very flavorful and filled me up. My wife got the grilled shrimp platter. Again it was three skewers of shrimp which was more than enough for her. I also had a pia colada and my wife had a strawberry daiquiri. Both drinks were just average which shocked me. I really though they would be something special. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick. Great view as well
Exceedingly average. Nice staff so,so food. Then some twat starts up karaoke during dinner. Then the stuffed toucan walking around. Where are we Disney!
Sat down and waited for 15 mins with no service and it was a slow night. Left without eating. Service was horrible!
Vacation. Beach view was GREAT. The number of servers caused delays;not the servers fault and they were apologetic. Stuffed mushrooms very good; Philly steak very loaded and homemade bread, scallops were done just right. So if you come to the beach you should enjoy the time and don’t worry about how long it takes! Have a drink!
Worth a try. I’m surprised by the bad reviews. We’ve had a couple of meals here while visiting on spring break. The food quality is generally slightly above average, with a few very good items. They are particularly good at shrimp. The sweet and spicy shrimp appetizer was easily the best thing i had. The prices are high but not out of line with most other restaurants in the area. The lunch menu has much better prices. The service is a little hit and miss and slower than I’m use to at home, but i find that to be true in most beach towns. I recommend eating in the tiki bar. Everything runs a bit smoother up there. It basically functions like a restaurant until 7 or so. They allow under 21s until the kitchen closes, which is about 9 i think. I’m writing this at 7pm and there are plenty of kids here. Toucan’s is easily the best adult hang out in town and one of the better restaurants! Give it a shot!
I am shocked that the reviews are so up and down. We went 15 minutes before closing, and I must say I was worried that we would get quickly prepared food to rush us out. Not at all!! Everyone loved their food, perfectly prepared and very tasty. We got the dozen oysters fried as an app – very tasty, but also very tiny, I could have snacked them all myself. Not really worth the $11. Meals — 1. Grouper — very good however a little pricy at $21 for the size filet. 2. Fish sandwich – very good and great deal at $11 – large filet and tasty. 3. Honey glazed salmon — VERY VERY good!!!!!! Worth the $19 price any day!!! We had a party of four (two people got the grouper) and we all had water (we are VERY cheap people) and our bill was $88 before tip. We would not order the grouper again simply because of the high price, but you could get the fish sandwich and have a better priced lunch. We will eat here again trying to keep the bill under $100 next time.
I hardly ever write negative reviews but the food here is terrible. The bar upstairs is fun.
