Read about this place that it was voted one of the top 50 in the World a couple of years ago and decided to visit in the evening. Casual hip is the impression one gets of the place, spread across the back garden by the pool etc with tables and chairs of all sizes. Cocktails were good but in the limited food menu, there was almost nothing vegetarian. Only area of improvement is the service – the servers are largely indifferent and it takes a lot of effort to get any attention or service.
Broken Shaker is a bar located inside the Freehand Hotel in Miami Beach and is noteworthy for the originality of its drinks. It has a limited menu and its ambience/dcor is targeted at people between 25 and 35 years old looking for a different experience. Drinks are served at the indoor bar, but just as meals, they can be enjoyed outside either in the exterior courtyard or by the poolside. What we liked the most: General Gui’s Chicken & Hey Mamey miamismith.com
On my recent trip to USA in January , I stayed in Freehand Miami because that had award winner one of the best Cocktail bar of in the world – 2015. Just after check in immediately after dropping my luggage in room I went to this bar to try cocktails in morning instead of having my tea. I was so exited. I tried many cocktails. Could say almost all from menu. Also I requested bartender who was so polite and Kind to make a cocktail drink (I forget the name) which was not available but still he prepared for me. I was there for two nights and eve after getting drunk from outside I was visiting this place for one drink before I doze off and calls my day. This place is must try for their amazing cocktails. Thanks a lot @robin Lewis for suggesting me to stay here and try this place.
The Broken Shaker was voted #14 in the 2015 50 Best Bars in the world, so it had to be on our list of places to visit while in Miami Beach. This is the only bar in Miami Beach that made the cut (and there are no other in the 51-100 list either). The menu is short but inventive, and they use ingredients that they grow themselves in the garden of the Freehand hostel, where they are based. Apparently the menu changes quite often. This time, it was a ‘Chakras’ menu, with a cocktail for each chakra. We tried the Throat – Blue (Leblon cachaa shaken with Fresh Lime and Blue Majik Algae Reduction) and the Heart – Green (Olmeca Altos tequila with Celery, Kale, Fresh Lime, Oregano Oil and Himalayan Pink Salt). I also had to order an Aviation, which is one of my all time favourites. The atmosphere is quite romantic, trying to recreate an old Cuban/Caribbean bar. The collection of bottles is impressive. The bartender was very friendly and gave us another bar recommendation, which we will hopefully follow while here.
Best bar in town, hands down. They have the best mixologists and hand crafted drinks! And it has such a nice ambiance to the outdoor seating! My favorite bar.
What it lacks in service it makes up for in ambiance and uniqueness. Please don’t misunderstand; the food and drinks are delicious, but the hipster servers are too eccentric to move any quicker than they do. Aside from the government pace, Broken Shaker, which is in a hostel, is a great place to meet people from all over the world.
This beast is a half-pound black angus beef patty. It is topped with sharp cheddar, drunken onions, and house cured bacon on a toasted brioche bun. Although simple, it has a backyard grilled taste that is reminiscent of a family BBQ but with highly sourced ingredients. The bacon is thick and adds to the heft of the flavorful and succulent beef, making for a truly satisfying meal. miamiculinarytours.com
