If you don’t want to break the bank but still want a taste of stone crabs from Joe’s, go to their prepared food section right next door. There’s plenty to eat – from salads, to sandwiches, soups, and of course stone crabs. The prices are reasonable for the quality that you get. My Salmon BLT was absolutely delicious. The salmon was grilled perfectly and the Applewood-smoked bacon was like candy. The spinach instead of lettuce was also a nice touch. My chicken soup tasted just like mom used to make it. There was plenty of shredded chicken breast in my bowl so it was well worth the $4.50. The Stone Crab Bisque is their most popular choice but that will run you $9.50/ bowl. The Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken was super fresh and the portion of chicken was generous.Try sitting on the patio outside. It’s much quieter and you get to appreciate the wonderful SoBe weather.
This is the massive take away branch of Miami Beach’s famous Joe’s Stone Crab. It’s a good bet if you can’t find a table at its more upscale cousin, and if you don’t mind eating from plastic containers. The menu is extensive, starting from the eponymous stone crabs through to salads, soups and nice desserts. This time we went for crab rolls, which came in a grilled brioche bun with butter. The crab meat was plentiful and oh so good. The rolls came with Joe’s chips (i. e. crisps), which are very nice.
