Easily the worst service we have had in south beach. The manager seemed like a nice guy, but the actual server was rude and horrible. I have NEVER had a waiter as clueless/inappropriate in years.
Starck + Sushi + Fabulocity = Katsuya. Inside South Beach iconic art deco trendy scene, Katsuya @ the SLS Hotel stands out from most by simply serving the best sushi SOBE has to offer. The upbeat atmosphere and chic decor is just an introduction to a sophisticated Asian gastronomic journey that is sure to please even the finest aficionado of Japanese cuisine. Visit Katsuya and see why it is one of the the top rated of its class in South Florida!
Gayle And I Had DiineR At Katsuya LastEvening. We Are Lovers Of Japanese Cuisine. Katsya’s Menu Is Terrific. We Had The Yellowtal Collar, Flash Fried Crab, Miso Black Cod And Undon Noodle.Soup. All Were Fabulous. The Staff Was Well Informed. On The Menu,Very Friendly And Competent. The Manager Visited With Us And Was Both Professional And Welcoming. Two Thumbs Up!
Excellent and Creative Cuisine!. At first glance, the restaurant looked like a haphazard cafeteria…one big room, with a too high ceiling, loud music and tables every which way…I almost did not stay….BUT so glad I did.Once seated along the curved outer wall , I felt better as I could watch the action and once our waiter arrived and we ordered the special sake, had settled into a more relaxed mood. THE FOOD! amazing dishes from start to finish…the shishito peppers had just enough bite to tear up your eyes, the spicy tuna over crispy rice is not to be missed. The Katsuya Special roll was a colorful and flavorful mix of tune, yellowtail, salmon wrapped in rice and thinly sliced cucumber. The Soft Shell crab Spider roll was not over fried, and the Sunset Roll with eel and avocado was creamy and finished with eel sauce…other dishes from Robata Grill and regular menu looked equally interesting…but we were there for the sushi and left happily impressed.
