Rip Off. Quite possibly the worse Chinese food I have ever had. Another ridiculously bad item is their drinks. They come in giant margarita glasses and taste like a bad drink mix, that comes in a packet; even worse was the $15 cost!Go somewhere else on Lincoln Road!
We were regulars at Miss Yip’s in South Beach and absolutely loved it! The restaurant recently moved around the corner onto Lincoln Road and we went there for dinner last night. The service was great but the food and prices were awful! The dishes went up from $6 or $8 a plate to $14 & $16 a plate. The dishes were overly salted and almost inedible! We were so disappointed that we do not plan to return to Miss Yip’s in SoBe.
VERY Disappointing!. I was practically born and raised on Miami Beach, and moved just a few minutes away years ago. I don’t get to Lincoln Road much anymore. When the weather is as beautiful as it is now, I try to get back to stroll Lincoln Road and enjoy the people-watching.My husband and I could not really decide where to eat as there are many, many restaurants on the mall now, but finally settled on Miss Yip after speaking with the ‘hostess’ hawking it and the attached Italian restaurant. You could order off of either menu. We decided to try Miss Yip’s menu. The waiter was informative, but also said the food was very good. Wrong! Also, my husband wanted Peking duck, which is on the menu, and they no longer carry it. They do have duck in other items. Our waiter told us they also had no pork that night. We first split a steamed eggplant with garlic sauce dish. It was beyond bland and if there was garlic sauce on it, I did not see nor taste it. My spouse thought it was o.k. There were also other some vegetables in the dish. To make it palatable, I needed to add soy sauce. Both my husband and I ordered lo mein. He got it with duck and asked for very crispy, well-done skin. I had chicken lo mein. The portions were large, but my lo mein was not even worth eating. which I ended up doing. The flavor was minimal and the chicken tasted totally processed/pumped-up and tasteless. Even adding soy sauce did not help. I normally would have sent this dish back, but I didn’t want to prolong the meal and wasn’t particularly hungry at this point. My husband managed to eat his duck lo mein, even tho the skin was fatty, not crisp. He was quite hungry and neither one of us wanted to complain. We really should have. We usually speak up when a meal is bad, but decided to let it go this time. But throwing out $60 really irks me [my husband had two beers included on the bill – $5. each]. The tip was included, as is true of several restaurants on Miami Beach. We don’t minding spending big bucks (way more than $60) when a meal, atmosphere and service are good, but $50 is alot when you can’t even eat your meal — I’m excluding the two beers. And, $50 is expensive for two lo meins and eggplant. I felt like the money was just thrown into the air.My recommendation: don’t go to Miss Yip. There are so many restaurants on the mall to chose from. Hopefully, our next choice will be much better. BUT — the people watching was great.
