My Ceviche is a hole-in-the-wall ceviche place in a hostel. The ceviche portions are generous, and they have a number of options for marinade/condiments. We went for a large portion of Aj Amarillo ceviche, which was suitably spicy and came with a little chunk of sweet potato, a little bit of corn on the cob and some spicy popcorn in a separate bag. The fish looked very fresh, but the marinade was perhaps a bit too acidic. There are some tables on the sidewalk where you can sit down and eat (although they looked like the hadn’t been cleaned in a while). I think these belong to the hostel rather than My Ceviche itself.
Octopus Rice Bowl. Very good!
Ceviche was inedible. Went to the one in south Miami, had the regular ceviche,it was sooo acidic with no flavors. Kept trying to eat it and could not
There’s no place to sit down to eat, but that’s okay because this food will make you want to do a happy dance! My aunt and I ordered the octopus and yellowfin tuna ceviche bowl and I ordered two tacos: mahi mahi and shrimp. We also split an order of spicy guacamole and chips and a mango slaw salad. The flavors in this food were like an A-list party in my mouth. Every bite was new and exciting, spicy, sweet, citrusy, tart, the flavors never ended. And if you take your food next door and eat in the hostel, they’ll give you 10% off your drinks at the bar! Might I add, we’d had cocktails earlier at a pricey south beach bar, which cost more than our food at my ceviche and drinks at the hostel combined. What a great place if you love fresh ingredients! The epitome of don’t judge a book by its cover.
Unimpressed. I love ceviche and came with my family to this place after reading an article in the Herald. We ordered 3 ceviche bowls. The rice in the bowls taste par boiled and is hardly edible. The ceviche was overly sour and devoid of other flavors. We abandoned the ceviche and went to the nearby Momi Ramen and had fantastic noodle soups instead.
Wouldn’t go back here – the traditional ceviche was way too acidic, it was swimming in lemon soup. The tacos lacked flavour. Hot sauce was not good either. Why this place has any hype is beyond me. The best part of the meal was the spicy popcorn. Service was good though.
