Eggs benedict, coffee and orange juice with a great view of Ocean drive and sunny weather. My husband & I surely enjoyed our breakfast here.
News Cafe is definitely a great place to watch the human zoo walking by that is Ocean Drive (casual, no hawkers trying to wave you in, and a few different levels from which to observe goings on) but what shocked me was the food. I had steak tacos. Not what I think of as diner food. And they were really, really good! And not overpriced at all, at $16. Now I know why this place is an institution of South Beach.
Well we always need a place to rest after a long night. Luckly this place open 24h daily. Serving a nice crab cakes hihi or yummy sliced tomato or u can go old school with the bacon and eggs.
I’m writing this review well after my visit, so read this in conjunction with other more recent reviews…. though this joint has been around for many years unchanged… so I expect this review will stand. I’m an early riser and was glad to see this place ROCKING before seven AM. Food was good, but not great…. but that’s not why you come here, to be honest. The massive outdoor seating area (compared to other SB venues…) is the best place to people watch as the all-nighters slip in to finish their night. I’ve seen everybody here…. models, wanna-be models , famous and infamous…. this really is the place. Legend has it even Versace frequented here before his death, so it has a cache’ that transcends some of the glossier, newer spots that come and go in the SB neighborhoods. No matter who you see, the good breakfast staples done right, coupled with the view make this a must-do if you are visiting…
We love the News Cafe. It doesn’t look like anything fantastic at first glance, but we decided to stop because the menu looked good. The food is wonderful. It’s not fancy, just down to earth food that tastes great. It’s now a vacation staple. We love starting a day on South Beach sitting beachside on the sidewalk patio, having breakfast and a latte in the ocean breeze.
The place has a fantastic vibe to it being on SoBe. We were served by Dino who was very friendly and suggestive on places around.We ordered for few drinks along with stir fry chicken and rice.Drinks were 50% and food was fantastic.Highly Recommended!!
My friend and I stopped here for breakfast because it was very close to our hotel and it came highly recommended. The food was decent. The service was very good. They had plenty of spots to eat outside in the shade, and misting fans to keep guests cool. The food is pretty typical breakfast food in a very convenient location.
