This is the first time a give a 5/5 to any place I’ve been to. This restaurant is a truly Japanese sushi bar. They don’t want to look like an occidental sushi, they just embrace their own original cuisine and don’t adjust it. The quality of the products is incredible, everything is selected by the main chef, who works there every day and it’s been doing so for 17 years, he is one of the owners now and looks after the quality they’re known for. This is also the most efficient restaurant I’ve been, they are very very quick and the service from waiters is one of the best and most kind I’ve got, everyone is Asian and they are very polite.Place is very small so it is very intimate and you get to know the owners who are around all time.PLEASE GO AND LEAVE A NICE TIP!!

Celebrating over 25 years in business. Theres a reason why Tonis has survived being the second oldest restaurant on South Beach. Its amazing. Theyre celebrating over 25 years in business. The ambiance elegant and the sushi precise, the evening was a sake wonder dream. They serve over 12 different sakis and the chefs are actually from Japan. Theres no kidding around with the taste buds at Tonis. We ordered the grilled Chilean sea bass, marinated in mirin sake and miso. It melted in the mouth. The mixture of texture and flavor made me feel as if I was in Japan experiencing the native foods, not dining in your typical SOBE tourist-style restaurant. We then ordered the Wasabi Ceviche. Yum. It came as a combination of seafood, avocado, red pepper, spicy tobiko and wasabi sauce. If youre a wasabi freak like me (I mix my wasabi right in my soy sauce for added punch) this sauce at Tonis is perfection. Definitely forlocals as well as tourists who want real South Beach dining. miamiculinarytours.com

Excellent Sushi!!!! And reasonably priced (for Sobe). Excellent place!! Food is great!! Not the cheapest of all places, but that’s expected of South Beach. Great atmosphere 🙂

Great for vegetarians…. The tofu salad was the most delicious meal i’ve had in a while. When ordering tofu it is usually hit or miss… i swear they made it from scratch it was so good. the flavors were so complex i was pleasantly surprised with this salad. the employees are very nice and helpful… try it!
