Had our last dinner in the Miami trip here in FLL airport. Had chicken wings and beef with rice and beans and fries. Food was okayish and price was decent.
Went to lunch with three coworkers. Two had the Palomilla Steak with Beans/Rice and Plantains. Looked good and they both said they enjoyed. Third had grilled Chicken with Beans/Rice and Plantains. Looked very good. As he cut it, the moisture beaded. We all commented that it was a large serving. I had the Chicken Vaca Frita. I was disappointed. Rather than being shredded, it was chopped to the point it reminded me of flaky canned tuna. Not much flavor. I asked for mojo seasoning and was provided a garlic butter paste. We each finished with Cafe con Leche, which was average.
Cuban cuisine, fails to use tradition cuban bread. Breakfast comes room temp and the alleged cuban bread is hard as a rock. Steak sandwich is mostly this horrible bread and very little steak.
