  Stuck in MIA looking for a quick bite? Yikes. Not ideal. But there’s good news! You still have time to walk away from Islander Bar & Grill! And unless the woman of your dreams is sitting alone at the bar? That’s exactly what you should do.Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere?While the service wasn’t to the substandard level that’s unfortunately common in airports across the U.S. (and the world for that matter), there really is nothing special here. The silverware and cups are plastic, the music is too loud, and they tack on a ridiculous 18% to your bill automatically regardless of the size of your party. Excuse me? No. No Star Granted.Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?This is an airport, so we’re talking ridiculous premiums for no reason. That having been said, I was pleased to get out of Islander for under $10 for what was a reasonably large meal. For $8.95, my Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sandwich looked like what’s pictured below.Not great. Not awful, but I’ll dish the star out here anyway. Star Granted.Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?Meh. Admittedly, I’m writing this review a few days after having actually eaten at Islander, but I can assure you I’d forgotten about my sandwich within an hour.The fries were weak, the roll poor, and the Chicken nothing special. Single Star Granted.Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?Nope, and neither should you. With Cafe Versailles right down the way serving up much better food for better prices, look elsewhere. No Star Granted.
