Very intricate wood work done to bring the feel of a wonderfully made cabin.. The waitress staff are very attentive an eager to serve .. My meals were as they should be .. Nothin less of perfection..I actually stayed for an extended time because I was feeling so relaxed by the atmosphere.. I WILL BRING MORE PEOPLE TO ENDULGE ON THIS QUAINT AN ACCOMIDATING RESTAURANT !!
Everything Was Great!. From the food to the service to the accommodations: everything about our lunch was great. The pulled pork was moist, tasty and the portions were a good size. The macaroni was very cheesy with a delicious baked top. The baked beans were cooked down in a tasty sauce with pieces of BBQ. The sweet potato fries were crispy and served with a delicious cinnamon butter. The onion rings were covered in a flavorful batter and the onions were very soft. The regular fries, garlic toast and the sweet tea were all good as well. Our server did an excellent job and we didn’t want for anything during our meal. We liked the layout of the restaurant and really enjoyed the large tables. The decor of the restaurant is eclectic since it is decorated like a hunting lodge with stuffed animals but also has grapes, vines and flowers hanging from the ceiling, a NASCAR area and various bric a brac. Overall we really enjoyed our dining experience.
Bad Attitude!. Food is always great but service is never what it should be. Owner seems to be very rude and uptight, and therefore (most of the time) his employees do also. If you can get by bad attitudes, have a go!
Great food. This is an awesome BBQ restaurant! The service is always good, the food is always great – it takes a little longer to prepare, because they pay attention to detail, but it is worth the wait. It is immacualtely clean. Staff are always courteous and attentive. Have been there many times over the past 2 yrs and ALWAYS come away have our expectations exceeded.
How this place says open is beyond me, another restaurant mystery. Tasteless food horrible service and have to agree arrogant owners!
Needs a lot of improvement.. The first time I went to this restaurant I thought the decor was adorable, beautiful wooden benches, foliage, and very nicely crafted bathrooms. This restaurant was built right down the road from my parent’s house, how nice that I don’t have to drive to Sonny’s in Orange Park for BBQ, right?My first visit was decent, I didn’t order anything out of the ordinary, probably a baked potato and fried okra. I don’t eat meat, but everything else is always delicious. The hand-breaded okra is great and their ranch dressing tastes like homemade. Service was okay the first time. Since then, probably 2 years ago, the waitstaff gets worse and worse. I’ve had deplorable servers who drop my dinner off and disappear to the back or to sit with another table while I need a refill, some more sauce, or to get my check. Maybe I looked like a bad tipper? The last trip I took there the waitress brought out my salad (which was my meal that trip) and completely forgot to bring out my guest’s pork plate, we literally sat there twenty minutes drinking our drinks dry and finally figured out that we had been forgot about. So we left. Food isn’t good if you never get it! I’ve also placed an order for corn nuggets as an appetizer, only to receive 5 corn nuggets. When I asked the waitress, she said that’s the correct serving size, and I actually got more than most people. Wrong answer. Also, there’s a lack of smiles in the building. The food is always really good, but the negatives clearly outweigh the positives here. I wish it was a better restaurant, I could go there every time I visit my parents. You would think in a hard-working town like Middleburg, this restaurant would respond with the same attitude for its customers. Not yet, I’m afraid.
Yummy. I love this place and so does my gf we could eat there everyday if we had the money !! their pretzels are great (and i dont like pretzels) their dinning area is soooo awesome i read the signs everytime i go in their i think ill have some tonight 🙂
