It has been several years since the last time I had eaten here. The wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning after Christmas. Even though it had been years, it was just like I remembered it. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was pretty good. My biggest complaint is that the breakfast selections are not exactly what I would really like, and they don’t offer a build your own option. We did not try the coffee, so I don’t know if it is good or not. Prices appear to be a tad bit on the high side for what you get, but are not unreasonable. We will probably give it a try for lunch or dinner in the future.
Good Burger Old Fashioned Burger and Homemade Rings. All of the qualities of a good old school burger like charred homemade patties, and nicely toasted buns. The meat on the smaller burger isn’t quite as wide as the bun, but each bite maintains proportion. Next time I’ll try the bigger one. The rings were thin and also pretty good.Over the last month I’ve been finding the last few old-school burgers in the area, and this one is one of the top in the area.
Great Seafood Buffet. We wandered in here on a weekend and they turned out to have a fried seafood buffet that weekend. It was awesome, just what we wanted. The seafood was fresh and they had variety; like they didn’t just have one type of breading. Some stuff had cornmeal, some had a beer batter, some just flour batter, but it was all seasoned nicely so as not to be overbearing, and it was all FRESH, as in cooked just right, nice and juicy, not dried out over-cooked sitting out too long like you find in some buffets. The price was kind of steep, but it was cheaper than worse seafood buffets in larger cities. With drinks and some fried mushrooms (I didn’t know if I wanted the buffet at first!) our bill for 2 people came to around $50. Not something we’re going to do all the time, but definitely when the time is right.Service was great and management friendly and they were happy to answer our questions about where the seafood was from. We’ll be back!
The burgers are dankness. Worth a drive to Milton. Also, great onion rings. Yum yum I’m hungry now.
What a great little small southern town restaurant. Go there frequently and have never been disappointed. Reasonable speed of service, food quality and portion size are spot on for the cost.
Delicious food. Had fried catfish and shrimp special. Lightly breaded and fried quickly. Not too salty or tough as is sometimes the case. Could have been satisfied with just the veggie bar. Lima beans were the best. Not as salty or fatty as some of the GA soul food restaurants. Perfect for me.
They serve breakfast all day and it’s delicious. Waffles, biscuits, grits, eggs, ham… It is all so good! I have ordered their blackened catfish and it didn’t taste fresh. The wait staff is always really friendly. Definitely come for the breakfast!
