Most enjoyable lunch. Enjoyed a lovely lunch. They were most accommodating for food allergies (can tell you what is in their recipes) and the three of us each had a delightful meal. The lunch special came with nicely (not over-) cooked fresh green beans, and they may just have the best little plain cup of coffee on the island. Too pricey for you? Stop in for dessert and a nice cup of coffee. A most enjoyable surprise on Big Pine Key. Locals may aspire to less and lower prices. They can certainly find that elsewhere.

Don’t waste your time. Just had lunch there and it took forever plus when the food arrived it was bad. The burgers were small (half lb according to the menu) and cooked to death as compared to the fries that were undercooked and soggy. The chopped salad was just a basic lettuce and tomatoe – they obviously don’t know what a chopped salad is – plus the chicken on it was so burnt it tasted like charcoal. The BLT was mostly bread – 3 slices – with very little lettuce and tomato and pre-cooked soggy bacon. Pass this one up and eat anywhere else – it will have to be better.
We dined at Bistro 31 tonight and it was fabulous!! Had the Rib Eye steak and it was so tender and a most delicious flavor. Will definitely be back!!!
Bad, bad, bad.. Nothing about this place makes sense. Let’s set the scene. It’s an old building, formerly a trashy bar. It’s located in a low-income area common for drunks wandering the streets in front of and behind the building. The sign looks like it was hand painted by kid. The inside still has the old furniture of a former Mexican restaurant and almost half the interior space is a bar surrounded by large screen televisions. Our waitress was a raspy voiced smoker who appeared to be going through detox from not having a drink in the past hour. So, what did I just describe? It sounds like a locals type of sports joint where one would expect cheap beer and bar food. Not!Instead, they are trying to pass off $30 dinners. I really thought the prices were a joke when I first looked at the menu. I still tried it though and actually thought I could overlook the whole sleazy bar atmosphere if the food was great. Well, that didn’t happen. My meat was tough and my wife’s fish special was void of taste. The sides were so small, it didn’t look like they were on the plate. This place is bad. I do not see it lasting long.
