We were seated immediately without a reservation after 8pm. We had appetizers and entrees. The calamari was overcooked almost to the point of being burned. The entrees were also over done, but were generously sized. The salads were very good. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad night. We would try again if in the area.
The service was excellent and so was the food. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. We topped off our meal with a delicious slice of key lime pie.
Visiting friends who have just moved to Tavernier. They admitted they hadn’t been to Mrs Mac’s as it always looked too crowded. We decided to give it a try and are so glad we did! We were a group of 6, and although the place was busy, but we were seated very quickly. Four of us had the fish combo baskets, one crab cakes and one chicken wings and a Caesar salad. Food came in a timely manner, our friends had a chance to look around and enjoy the decor. The fried food was crispy, well cooked and not the least bit greasy. Crab cakes were huge, with very little filler. The topper was the wings-12 huge pieces cooked and seasoned to perfection. My only wish was that they had a non spicy style of wings, I would have liked to order them! Server was as attentive as she could be considering how busy the place was. In all it was a great evening, food was excellent at a reasonable price. We will be back!
