Don’t understand why everyone is so upset. We came here after doing some night fishing, and I don’t see why people are giving it a bad rap. It’s a waffle house, not a five start dining experience. The server was great (I think his name was Ray), and the food was, well.. waffle house food. No more, no less. I’d go there again, they’re open 24/7 and convenient, and I know I most likely won’t get food poisoning.
I was debating whether to say I like this place or not. The food is good, and I do love the small, open kitchen diner feel, but the service is terrible! The hostess did not say a word to us. Instead she snapped her fingers to get our attention, and pointed at an open table! The waitress was not much better. Again, the food was good and cheap, but I would never go back.
The food was good as expected. The service, well it flat out sucked. We sat at the counter and after being there for 10 minutes we were approached by our waitress. We ordered a couple sodas and our food. The soda machine was out of syrup and when we brought it to our waitress attention she said she wouldn’t know as she doesn’t drink soda. I asked if she could change the syrup and bring us fresh sodas when she had a chance. He response was that she didn’t know anything about the machine and really couldn’t help us. She also said that she didnt know what we wanted her to do about it…i never get rude with servers but i directed her to dump out my soda and get me a fresh one or tell manager who could fix it. I thought she was going to throw the soda at me, but that would take effort too. The manager was also the cook and I could tell he was frustrated with her lack of initiative. He got us taken care of and our food was good. Good luck to this manager.
The food is good, and parts of their menu are reasonably priced. The service…well no smiles, but they do serve you.
These places are an institution in the South. I gave this one an I don’t like because the waiter offered to discount our ticket if we gave him the money in his tip….ewwww! A good story to share but just not my speed…
