About
Tony's Chowder House at 622 N. Donnelly St. in Historic downtown Mount Dora, Fl. opened in February 2019. The structure was built in the 1920's as a residential house. Today it's a very small nautically themed 12 table tribute restaurant. Back in 1950-1980's small Chowder House's were popular in the Northeast US. Over the years many have faded away. Tony's Chowder from small town Cedar Key on Florida Gulf Coast won 3 world clam chowder championships at the Great Chowder Cook-off in Newport, R.I. ( 2009-2011). The Chowder House in Mount Dora is a mix of yesterday & today with Tony's kicked up Chowder as the star of the house. The menu includes fresh seafood of fish, shrimp, scallops and crab entrees. Lunch starts at 11 and dinner is available now. Stop in for a cup, bowl, quart dine in or take home. Limited seating is available. During peak times there maybe a wait. Reservations are suggested. Each table, each day is given top notch care and attention. Welcome Aboard!
