We love this place. Always looking for a healthy place to eat in Carrollwood. It’s so filled with junky chains that it can be hard. The black bean hummus they give you when you arrive is to die for! The atmosphere is great! Black olive Caesar is amazing! Yummy crab cakes, Moroccan chicken and mezza platter are SO good. This is just such a great place to get yummy food and stay healthy!
Gave it a 2nd chance and was still utterly disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. I went with some friends about 6 months ago and was not impressed, the food and service were both mediocre. Tried again with family about a month ago. We asked for a pitcher of red sangria and the server brought us a pitcher of really bad red wine with no fruit in it just ice.The food is of a very poor quality. The calamari is like rubber, everything else we ordered was smothered in oregano and not nice at all. Definitely will not be coming back a third time.
Good atmosphere, service, and pricing. The food delivered on all aspects and came out in a timely manner. Every dish that we ordered was unique and cooked really well. The military discount of 20% was a great surprise as well. Definitely check this place out preferably in a large group so you can try everything.
Wont return. We like the idea and the ambience and have been several times. But it’s hard to find something we want to drink or something we want to eat on the menu. For a wine bar the selection is very limited. For a cafe the food is just wrongly described & wrongly prepared (the so-called pork tenderloin with chutney was a classical Wiener Schnitzel with an apple/tomato sauce which did not complement it; the house salad was a mis-match of Italian, from the dressing, and Greek, from the feta cheese, which was not nice). We have found items that we liked but these are few and far between (e.g. pumpkin ravioli in sage sauce – no longer available). The service is well-intentioned but often sub-standard, as all courses often arrive together. We have tried hard to like it but will now give up and not retun until we hear that the managers ahve changed.
We had lunch here today for the 1st time. We were very impressed! The ambiance was very nice, service was great & food tasted fresh and healthy. My husband had angus beef burger and I had 1/2 margarita flatbread with house salad. We shared seasonal veggies and Mac & cheese. Hubby said burger & fries were excellent. The house vinaigrette on my salad was very good! Flatbread, Mac & cheese and veggies were all very good! We will definitely be back!
Big disappointment!. Been looking forward to going…but won’t be going back. The iPad ordering is cute but wasn’t explained well and our waitress offered to take our order the traditional way. We ordered soup, salad and an entree and everything came out at the same time. We sent the entree back to keep warm and my husband passed on the soup so his steak entree wouldn’t get cold. We were never asked if we wanted another cocktail..just given our check after dessert. We were sitting talking with the couple we were dining with and the maitre ‘d / hostess told us we needed to vacate the table because they had a reservation for it. There were other empty tables…it was after 9pm and we were so shocked at her request that we got up and left. We dine out often and have never experienced that before. They need to decide if this is a cyber cafe or a fine restaurant. Will not be recommending this place to anyone!
Don’t go for Service–Carmel should be a cafeteria. We tried—- have been to Carmel three times because I want to love it— Carrollwood needs an authentic food experience–but alas, I have given up…. the service is just off EVERY time— it might as well be a counter that you go up to, look at the pictures, get a number and bring it to your table…. then the food will be dropped off… all the while as if you are putting the wait staff off— if you have a question, they have consistently each time directed our party to look at the picture on the Ipad and read the description— maybe they can change the concept to a cafeteria?
