Cute tea room in the Carrollwood area. I had my bridal shower at their old location in Temple Terrace and a baby shower in their current location. Their tea selection is very good. I love the high tea with their scones and little sandwiches.
The tea was good, however the tea pot was a bit stained and maybe needed a good cleaning. This was our first time it’s was mediocre at best. The sandwich were ok the cucumber dill seems like the dill was missing. My 9 year old was quite offend by PBJ and grilled cheese on kids menu. The muffins were over cooked, scones were very dry and 6 grapes and 2 chocolate covered strawberries was all the fruit. It was expensive for what you received.
Beautiful Wedding at the Empress Tea Room. The Empress Tea Room just hosted my son’s wedding. The room, with linens to match the theme of the wedding, was beautiful. We added some favors to the tables and were ready to party. From the planning to the party, the folks at the tea room were not only helpful and accommodating, they were also nearly as excited about the event as we were, which made everything extra special. We had approximately 75 guests and used the dance floor. The meals were delicious. We intended to use one of the outdoor bridges for the ceremony, but Mother Nature moved us inside at the last minute. No worries, because the staff immediately prepared the room for a lovely change of plans. Kudos, and thank you!
Very inviting elegant atmosphere. I travel quite a bit and see a lot of unique establishments. I don’t normally write reviews about any of them, even though they have been good experiences. My recent visit to The Empress Tea Room was so wonderful from the moment I walked in, that I had to share my thoughts about it so more people would know. This place has to be one of the best kept secrets in Tampa. When I walked in I was introduced to a local chocolatier, Mari Caron, there was a beautifully appointed dessert room! WOW! I almost chose dessert over lunch. I was seated and ordered the soup de jour ( tomato basil ) ….Fantastic! I also had the vegetable quiche , the bottom line here is that I would definitely recommend this place, 5 stars across the board, service, food, and atmosphere, ALL GREAT….And I took home some amazing chocolates for the wife 🙂 next week we have reservations for Brunch, can’t wait!

A rare gem!. With many of our tea rooms going out of business it is no wonder that Empress has stayed the course and made it – even during these difficult economic times. They do so by providing a dash of excellent customer service with a spot of tea and a delicious scone surrounding by loveiness. I’ve been to Empress numerous times (both locations) and have introduced it to friends. A great place to have your book club meetings too!
Lovely. This is my favorite tea house! My daughters take me here every Mother’s Day and I always enjoy it. The staff is great and the tea is delicious!
