Dang good BBQ!So happy this location opened. Clean, friendly atmosphere, lots of seating options and ohhh the food looks and smells so good making it hard to decide. You order from the counter and can add items as needed. I got the Hog n Heifer sandwich w beans and slaw as my side then added an order of the jalapeno mac n cheese because I needed to try that. They have beer, including craft beer which makes for a perfect meal. The sandwich was divine. I cant stop thinking about. Soooo piggy and delicious. They have sauces on the table, a sweet and a spicy. I went spicy and even bought a bottle to take home. The mac n cheese was delicious but not for the faint at heart. It was kick yo ass spicy, so look out. Looking forward to going back to try the ribs and chicken. They also have to go Family Meals which sound like a good idea to pick up on the way home.
Seems that opening a BBQ in Carrolwood is the thing to do. 4 rivers, Holy Hog, Mission BBQ,, wondering which will make it?I have tried both 4 rivers and Holy Hog, and would easily pick Holy Hog to return to. Basic facility, but definitely fine for a quick bite. The food was pretty good, sides as is often the case at this counter service style place can be a bit overcooked and kind of blah. However we go to BBQ for the meats, and they did these quite well. I had ribs and they were flavorful and very tender.
The best. This is the best BBQ joint in the area, hands down. The meats are smoked to perfection and that gold BBQ sauce is absolutely addictive. Even the mac and cheese (I like the jalapeo one) is off the charts. I would take the Hog & Heifer sandwich from here over anything that 4 Rivers has to offer.
—. Been here twice so far,both times were really great, I love the atmosphere but I wish for the price I got just a tad bit more food but I’ll stay loyal to this new place. Food is flavorful except my green bean casserole, it was like chewing goo beans and rocks (the crunchy onions on top) to be honest. Definitely worth coming in for the mac and cheese and burnt ends.
