I have been to many sushi restaurants in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. Many of these restaurants in their own rightr are very good, and I have no complaints. Origami is in a class its own, their fish is the freshest, the flavors are dynamic. In lots of these places you feel like they are just switching sauces around a plate and telling me it’s a different roll. These are carefully crafted and very original creations. The spice isn’t overwhelming but let’s you know it’s presence. Well balanced sweet to sour to salt. For those over 21 the alcohol selection is good. I almost always have the plum wine. My husband the house cab. It’s reasonably pricedabout the same that you would find in any other sushi restaurant. If you can’t you they have a nice platter selection that will give you a few more options.
Greasy, crunchy, rice. Nothing special about this place. First and last time…never again
Don’t let the fact that it’s located next to a Pinch a Penny store fool you. This place is the real deal. Amazing sushi and impeccable service in a minimalist, quietly elegant atmosphere. The prices, especially during happy hour, are extremely affordable. Don’t miss it!
We loved the food from here !!! This is our second time coming here and the food yet again was so good. I would like to add that we brought our daughter with us on Valentines (no babysitter) we were seated in the very back of the resturant off to the side in this room. Some people might have been offended by this, but to us this was awesome! We could eat and not worry about Bella being loud or disturbing the Valentine Lovers
On the fence.. The food is decent, I have no huge complaints there (aside from the new appetizer I tried last week, their take on the jalapeno popper. It just does NOT work.). The eel nigri was excellent. Service is good. I wish they would make the rolls smaller & they had more fish selections.

Best Sushi in Tampa. I’ve tried many sushi places in Tampa and this is by far the best one. I had the Phoenix roll and it was far more than I expected. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and great service… everything you could ask for in a sushi restaurant. In addition, the woman at the front desk was very courteous and helpful. Origami Sushi just added one more loyal customer to their list.
