The Thai wonton soup is amazing and the orange peel shrimp is just amazing! Hubby gets the Mongolian beef which is always good. The food is consistently good here! You just can’t beat it. Take out took over a half hour (& they weren’t busy) I could’ve made the food myself in that time- I thought this place was supposed to be fast? Honey chicken was in a gloppy/jelly sauce that made me gag. Fried rice was gross too– So surprised but mall Chinese food is better than this! Outstanding Pork Egg Rolls. I’ve been going to Pei Wei for a number of years & have yet to be disappointed. These new egg rolls though are the best.I ordinarily order the Kung Pao, but I noticed the new appetizer & went w/ 6 for lunch. I took two home.The ground pork has the texture of meat that’s been ground at least 5 times (kind of like good vodka…multiple, multiple distillations), & the wasabi mustard compliments it well.
Good Samaritans as well as good food. This afternoon we decided to eat here because we were going to Lowes and were short on time.The food was so, so, so much better than we could ever have expected BUT NOT ONLY THAT!!I forgot my pocketbook there, and quite a few hours later I came in to see if I had left it. YES I DID!! Not only did they give me my pocketbook back with everything intact, but they also gave us coupons for some free food for our trouble! That was extremely kind in their behalf, and most certainly didn’t have to be done!Thank you Pei Wei, not only did we sincerely like the food, we were very grateful for your safeguarding the pocketbook!!!
A frequent favorite. Pei Wei is one of my favorite places to eat…and the staff know it. The Pei Wei Spicy is my favorite and I eat every last morsel on my plate. The meal deals are fabulous because you get the meat, white (or noodles for a $1 upcharge- worth it!!) and soup or rolls for something like $6.99. Perfect!! The to-go option is always super fast and very efficient. I love that your prior to-go orders are always saved in the computer for easy access on your next visit. Basil Thai Chicken. I’m not an expert, or usually a big fan of Asian food but I like it here. We have done take out, twice, because ordering online and pick up seems easier than the wait for a table and such.The server for our pick up was great (the other person not so much), he even made sure our order was correct in the bag before sending us off.I really like that you can order brown rice. It goes great with the Basil Thai chicken. Not too much sauce, seasoned just right, and tasty.
Not impressed…. Maybe I’m spoiled by being surrounded by some excellent Asian restaurants, but this place just did not impress me at all. I ordered their version of General Tso, extra heat…what I got was a one-dimensional gloppy sauce with no discernible heat whatsoever. And to boot, I had to shell out close to $10 for this mess. Never again.
