I came here with my family for my graduation party. I could not have had a better experience. They brought us a complimentary appetizer that could be best described as a mozzarella stick baked in delicious bread rather than fried in batter. I had the picana platter. This is my favorite steak cut here because all of the fat is consolidated to one thick strip on the edge that is easily cut off. The owner told me to take the fat and leftover steak home for breakfast the next day. He said i should cut the steak as thin as possible, throw the fat in a pan with a bit of butter, add some bell peppers, yellow onion, and garlic, and then fry the steak strips in it. I did as he said. It was as amazing the second time around. Also, get a Chaja for desert. Seriously. if you’re full and dont have room, get it to go. you will not regret it, this i promise you. Sometimes i stop by here just to grab a couple of chajas and empanadas and a tub of chimichurri to go so i can have renzo’s at home. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. The food is AMAZING, and the owners are even better.
Just got home from eating at Renzo’s. Not super impressed… The chimichurri which is the special sauce to any churrasco steak was the plainest I have ever tasted. I have never tasted a bad chimichurri til now. Usually very flavorful with different medleys of flavor, this tasted like olive oil, very dry old parsley flake, and a hint of pepper and maybe oregano. Tasted like what you dip your bread in at an Italian place. The meat was good except it was resting on a pool of oil on the parilla plate. But like I said, the meat, while overall lacking seasoning, was pretty good and tasted like decent quality. I just couldn’t get over how bad the chimichurri was, I usually put it on everything, which I still did, just hoping for a compliment to steak, etc. but left disappointed.
A great first impression. Simple, comfortable decor, excellent service, and a skirt steak (medium rare) that was among the tastiest meat I have ever eaten, tender and cooked to perfection. I will definitely return.
