Great atmosphere, good service, average food. This restaurant is a great place if you like dark, intimate spots. The service was good, and a reservation isn’t necessary. My date and I had the Alpine cheese fondue, which was mediocre. While it had flavor, it lacked any really development. The dipping items were small in portion as well. Our entre consisted of duck, filet mignon, venison sausage, andouille sausage, sirloin, and chicken with the court bouillon. The portions were just big enough to satisfy us. Unfortunately, the bouillon lacked much flavor. Our dessert was a mix of milk and white chocolate fondue; best part of the meal. While this place isn’t BAD, I would definitely only recommend it to someone who doesn’t know food very well. The portions were a little stingy for the price. Overall, you are paying for the atmosphere.

Disappointing. We have been going to the location for Mothers Day for the last few years but after tonight will not go back. 1st we had a 645 reservation and did not get seated till 730! Please note we had a 3 month old baby with us. The meal was only adequate as they have reduced the quality of the food. As for the service awful would be the best word. hardly ever saw our server, actually saw the manager more. Complained to manager and only got an I’m sorry! 645 reservation and didn’t leave till 10 pm.

VERY LONG WAIT AND FOOD IS NOT THAT GREAT!. We went here on Father’s Day and what a big disappointment!!! We told the hostess we were new and she never told the waitress therefore, the waitress never explained anything (even after I asked a million and one questions). They didn’t have anything to keep the kids occupied because they were out of kid’s menus. When we finally figured out how to order it took FOREVER for the waitress to come back to our table. We got there at 4 PM and didn’t leave until after 6:30 PM (this is with rushed eating). We had kids with us so I told the waitress I needed her to come back frequently so we could get the courses started. That went in one ear and out the other. I finally had to flag down another server for assistance. To top it all off the food isn’t even good! They use Kraft shredded cheese (or a lesser brand) for the cheddar cheese fondu (very greasy) and you have to boil your own meat. Who boils steak? GROSS! I will never go back to another melting pot again! They could do much better. Why not allow for more than one pot at a time so you can have variety all at once (smaller pots)? NOT WORTH IT SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Chocolate Fondue….AMAZING!. Had the Seasonal Boston Lager Cheese Fondue…was ok. Guess not a big fan of cheese fondue period. Now the California Salad with Raspberry walnut vinaigrette…YUMMY! One of the best salads I’ve ever had. Couldn’t decide what entree, so did the pick 3 in Mojo style. Chicken Potstickers, shrimp and Memphis BBQ pork. The pork was my favorite. The best part of the evening was dessert. Had the Flaming Turtle….AMAZING!!! I would go to The Melting Pot just for their dessert alone.

I like it but…. They really need to cut the price in half. It’s nice and the ambiance and blah blah what everyone else put on here but it’s way overpriced. I don’t mind spending $75 a person or so on a good night out, but that really should include more than a lobster tail and about 10oz of meat shared between two people and four beers.

Good for the missus. Shows that you have…I dunno what you call them….feelings? Romantic kinda feelings. You know, woo her?It sounds corny but it is a good date place. The ambiance and the pacing is slow and relaxing and the fondue experience is unique. The cheese + apple deal is a party in your mouth. Here’s my philosophy: Is this a first date? If so, skip. Go to Bellas Is this a subsequent date and you are about to expose her to the horrors of your gene pool better known as your family and is the investment in cash and time is worth it (face if folks, the economy sucks and this place can rival Burns if you get some vino)? If so, you really need to come here.

Simple the best. This was my absolute favorite restaurant to take a date in Tampa. The semi-private booths make the experience intimate. The service is A+ as is the food.
