My wife and I went with my father and stepmother. Estelle’s used to be the Brandon neighborhood treat for Mexican but they shut down, and my folks found Vallarta’s. I had been here before but the building used to be a steak and seafood place many years before. The food was good as was the conversation. It was a very typical neighborhood style Mexican Restaurant or should I say the Gringo’s version of Mexican food. winedineandplay.blogspot.com
I didn’t stay here long as we met friends late and had to leave pretty quickly but the things I noticed were plenty of seating and waiters and waittresses. Food was okay. I hear certain nights of the week they have a Mariachi band
I am not a fan of Vallarta’s chain as I feel the generic food provided is what gives Mexican food a bad rap (in Tampa). This is not what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. However I have accompanied coworkers to a couple different locations including Carrollwood. Frankly save yourselves half the money and go to Taco Bell instead, more flavor at half the cost.
