Went to try the seafood paella and enjoyed a flavorful and adventuresome dinner on the outdoor patio at the Iberia-inspired Vizcaya restaurant in Tampa. We sipped their wonderfully refreshing Sangria as we perused the tapas menu, assisted by our very friendly server, Tara. The menu choices were a feast for the imagination! We finally selected 1) pulpo (baked octopus), very tender, beautifully seasoned w Spanish paprika, served w potatoes; 2) merluzita, a spanish fish, stuffed w lobster & seafood, served smothered in a phenomenal seafood-bisque sauce; 3) berenjena (eggplant), thinly sliced, rolled, stuffed with Spanish cheeses, dressed with a tomato-olive oil dressing. All were outstanding! We shared the seafood paella entree which was first-rate: enormous prawns and a generous amount of mussels, clams, squid, scallops, and grouper served over well-seasoned rice. We look forward to returning to sample some more of the menu!
Love this place!. I love to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is always wonderful. And the live music is prefect. Great food, the tapas are the best. The bartenders make the best drinks. On a nice evening the outside patio is nice to sit out on as well.
Lost the taste. Very disappointed with the food.I hadn’t been back before they expanded, before it was very authentic and consistent.Yesterday I took some friends from out of town for a birthday dinner. The place was packed and we ordered several tapas. The food was so not what I expected since the last times I been there. Bland, poor presentation, empanadas were cold, croquetas were soggy and mushy not crispy like they should be. The sweet breads and the rabbit bland and messy plated. The house salad was very good. The flan was not firm and very eggy tasting. This was truly a disappointing meal, they lost the deliciousness they had and authenticity true Spanish flavors. They have made the menu with Cuban style items also. The live band and the cocktails were really good.
Great atmosphere / great food. A friend and I had never been before but always wanted to try. We made a 7:30 reservation and even though the place was full, we only waited 10 minutes. The live music was great, and the atmosphere was fun. We share some tapas – the eggplant and ceviche (seafood) was incredible! We also split their Seafood Paella (it is huge) and really enjoyed. Our waiter didn’t rush us at all, and was very attentive. Will definitely go back!
Digna. Great food and atmosphere.
Great food and brilliant atmosphere. We had a wonderful experience at this quaint little place. The food is outstanding. ALL OF IT! Appetizers, entres and dinners. Service is the best. Great place for a special occasion.
Another decent trip here. Been a while since we had been so we did an early Monday evening dinner using a restaurant.com gift certificate.Pitcher of red sangria, a charcuterie plate, house salad, stuffed peppers and a stuffed fish were our choices.Like sitting at a bar table vs the dining room in the new space. Bar is really cool and upscale while dining room has gone pretty formal and stodgy to me.Not many folks on Mondsy evening but a few were coming in as we finished up. Pretty sad the way folks dress for a nicer place like this.Wearing clothes like they just left Wal Mart or worse. I mean jeans are ok but cheap shorts and a t shirt with your running shoes is a little ridic.Casual vs. Florida redneck tourist is the comparison. Our meal was solid and a return is certainly in the future.Looks like a great bar for some later evening snacking and music as well.
