This is a local spot . Very small maybe 7, 8 tables inside 5 outside. Most people were doing take out. And others wait and it is worth it . Great local hole in the wall, I had seafood chowder that was awesome. Grouper sandwich was great as well. Small, clean, friendly, great. If you are with family I would call order in and pick up to eat at hotel or condo . A couple at single or at the most 4 people you can wait and eat. Promise you will not regret. Will be back for more.
Once you find Grouper & Chips, you will know it was worth the effort. The restaurant is located in Trinity Plaza (a very tiny and generic strip mall – but they tried to make it look nice with arches) on Tamiami Trail. Parking can sometimes be an issue here, so be forewarned.Note: You can order your seafood fried, blackened, sauted, or broiled. This is important when you may be dining with those who do not eat fried foods. I dined here for dinner and found the service and atmosphere to be good. I ordered the one-piece grouper basket with fries and cole slaw along with a Mich Ultra. The fish was flaky and flavorful, the fries were fine, and the cole slaw was very good.I really liked the food here, but I thought the prices were a tad bit on the high side for what you got. I would come back, for sure. I want to try their fish tacos next.
