Normally love this place, but my last visit was horrible! We were sat at a dirty table and the waitress brought a rag and set it on the table for us to wipe the table off with, then proceeded to leave said dirty rag on our table the entire meal, my husband ordered she crab soup (which he usually loves) this time he said it was terrible and couldn’t eat it. Also our drinks never got refilled since our waitress rarely came to the table. Also it normally doesn’t smell like a seafood restaurant, the smell coming from inside was very pungent. All in all a very bad night.
This place has a beautiful view. The I can’t remember if it’s a lake, a river whatever, but there’s a deck outside for outside dining which is great. The crab cake soup is their specialty and doesn’t disappoint. I don’t care for their chicken tenders. If you love meatloaf, there’s is great, beware because there are chunks of jalapeo in the meatloaf and some just have a lot kick. The complimentary is AMAZING!!! Whenever I go just ask for rolls and pumpkin bread since I don’t care for the jalapeo bread. It’s a great restaurant for any age or group.
Great veranda dining on the inland waterway. Solid food and good ambience, a low country tradition.
Enjoyed the crab cakes at Barbara jeans. Highly recommend for seafood dishes prepared with home -town love for a reasonable price.
Good Place for Lunch. Stopped here for lunch. The food and portions were excellent in all regards. We had the chicken fried sandwich, crab cakes and soup. the plates were CLEAN! The wait staff was attentive and in great sprits for a rainy day. On the way out, it looked like many locals were enjoying as well.
Not Good. This morning my wife and I had breakfast at Barber Jeans and I am sorry to say the out come was not good .When we started to eat our meal every thing on our plate was cold and even the toast bread was not done . This was not our first vist to this resturant. I might add the service was not good. We even had to request to bring nellie and we had to ask a another server to bring us more coffee.
We have never been disappointed. We loved the crab cakes, buttermilk shrimp and coconut shrimp we had on this visit. Red beans and rice, French fries and bread all very good as we’ll.
