First of all, we had real trouble finding them since they moved. Once we did find them, the staff seemed very nice. Our food was lacking though. Lobster bisque was good, but the scallops and fish in my cioppino were overcooked. Everyone’s plate was very hot…we surmise that they were kept under a heat lamp for a while. The vegetables that were advertised as going with each meal weren’t there; everyone had asparagus and red cabbage. My grandfather was upset that they didn’t have a full bar. Overall, overpriced for the quality of food. Not worth it to go back.

I had lunch at horizons yesterday and thought it was really enjoyable. We had a special buffalo ceaser shrimp wrap and though it was not really spicy, it was good. The sweet potaoe fries are yummy and the house Chardonnay is good. The waitstaff was very friendly. I will go back as there are several other dishes I want to try. Look in the money magazine for July as they have a few bogo offer.
First Rate. Three of us had dinner at Horizons last night and all I can say was that it was flawless. Best dinner I’ve had in the last 5 years. Nice, quiet atmosphere, wonderful service, two out of two on the appetizers, three out of three on the entrees, and three out of three on the desserts! Fresh, superbly prepared cuisine, reasonably priced in a nice setting.
Yum. This place is great. I’m an idiot for not eating here sooner. Lunch is delicious and reasonably priced. I had a burger with bacon and brie – wow that’s great. They’ve got a number of excellent sounding salads and it’s hard to pick just one. I’ll have to go back. Everybody at my table really liked what they had. We sat out on the front porch in spring, which was so nice in that setting with live oaks and lawn. Don’t miss it. It’s down south past Harris Teeter as you head south on the road that goes off the south end of the island.Edit: I’ve been back several times now and it’s good every time.
Love Horizons menu, especially the sweet potato fries with lunch! Service is excellent and the chef is wonderful. Highly recommend for dinner or lunch.
Restaurant on First Coast Hwy now!. Excellent food and a highly skilled chef! I have had almost everything on the menu and am always pleased! Service is the best on the island. They even treat my six year old daughter like a star! My favorites are the tuna napoleon, the crab and smoked salmon tarte, any of the souffles, and a great wine selection. You have got to give this place a try. We end up there about every other Friday night. Just a delight!
