One of the best restaurants on the island!. Far from being just a flash in a pan, the long-standing classic Kabuki has been dishing out amazing hibachi style food and sushi for many years. My husband and I spend a few weeks a year at our beach condo in Fernandina Beach and this restaurant is just a few miles away. Everything about Kabuki is absolutely great. There is always tons of parking out front. The atmosphere is tantalizing; the restaurant has great traditional Japanese accents and the most friendliest staff and chefs in town. My husband and I love Chef Steven and Kevin the best. The most amazing aspect of hibachi style restaurants like this is the ability to communicate with the chefs and watch as they make the food in front of you. We have been to many hibachi style restaurants around the east coast and this is by far our favorite. The ingredients are the best ever. Usually restaurants like this use dark meat chicken and lousy steak and seafood. The meats are so fresh; it seems like it comes straight from the market. White meat chicken and great rib eye or filet steaks. And did I mention the sushi? Absolutely the best sushi I have ever had in my life. Sometimes we sit at the sushi bar and that is all we will have. Every time my husband and I come we try something new on the sushi menu and it just makes us want to come back for more. If you want a great romantic dinner with amazing food and the friendliest staff, visit KABUKI!!!!

Used to be awesome, still is good, they have just slimmed down A LOT with the quantity of the food for the price, but definitely still good service and good atmosphere.

Great deal – two meals for $22 (including soup and salad, etc ). They were nice enough to allow us to get this when we called from the parking lot at 6:59pm (deal end at 7pm). The meal was good – nothing stand out…ginger dressing not great…steak a little tough. That said…our chef had no show…didn’t abide by our request for no flames and talked about getting drunk with a patron, who I deduce also works there but who had the night off. The chef at the next table was allowing a patron to purchase beers for him…and she was with 4 teens and an elementary aged child. Who was driving home? Our server was not familiar with the menu as well. Again…good deal, interesting for people watching but not family friendly.

Lame. This restaurant could use some serious pick up. Service was slow even though it was almost an empty house. I brought my mother here for an early mothers day. She complained her dentures almost broke because of the salad. It had lettuce cores as a whole, two of them. Who serves cores? Cheap people or lazy people? You decide. The soup was bland as can be. I usually go to another restaurant near my place, its more classy then this one, even has a full bar.Mostly rowdy rednecks here.

Kabuki has lost its luster. I have been coming here for years and witness this business decline. It just doesnt shine like it use to. Alot of good employees have been mistreated and misunderstood, as a result, a declination of trust and loyalty among employees. Which in turn effects overall performance in service and gratitude. Chefs take too long to come to tables. And waitresses hardly ever fill drinks or remember to bring your steam rice or sushi. Average wait time from walk in to first bite, about an hour and half.
