HOLY *****. I have been to many restraunts but this one by far has the best croutons period. They were so amazing. The garlic flowed perfectly with the melted butter flavor and they were so tender with a slight crunch, creating a savory heart stopping flavor. For real I could go on for days about how pleasentt the croutons were. I will definetly go back here again just to have them again and I will recommend this place to everyone. TWO THUMBS WAY UP FOR THE CROUTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grouper Disappointing at best. Seems like this could be a good restaurant, but just wasn’t on our trip.Pros – Opening service, wine recommendation, corn muffins, fried green tomatoes, BBQ shrimp, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, corn succotash,Cons – post initial service very slow and forgetful, grouper bluecrab overcooked and dry, simply grilled grouper bland and dry
New chef from Chicago! Awesome filet (went there to eat seafood) great presentation, corn sucatash yummy! Best corn bread I’ve had!
Best Meal Ever. Had possible the best meal ever. Great food, atmosphere and service at reasonable price. The crab and butter crusted grouper was stupendous!!! As was the salad and dessert.Do not miss this restaurant when in the Jacksonville, Fl area.
Don’t wast your money!. I ate there last October as part of a business group, and was unimpressed. Still, it was the only place open in the Omni Plantation (other than the Falcon’s Nest, where we had dined the night before – very good), so we tried it again mid-August 2012. I took our server’s recommendation of the seared Ahi tuna with heirloom tomato and goat cheese salad, and the wife had blackened striped bass. The tuna was top quality but completely unseasoned, as if it had been thrown in a teflon pan with a little olive oil. The broccolini that accompanied it was actually cooked properly and very good. My wife’s striped bass was over cooked and unremarkable. Neither had a decent sauce to accompany them. Our daughter ate from the typical kids menu. Dinner for the three of us with two glasses of wine: $154 and a total waste of money. I won’t go back, ever.
Had excellent salmon. My husband loved the filet. Table wine service was top-notch. You pay a bit more here but it is worth the nice evening out. Recommended!
Disappointed. We stayed at the resort and decided to go there on new years day. Ordered seafood salad and half fried shrimp. The salad was dry and tasteless. Fried shrimp came with 6 shrimps. The waitress was pushing us to get wine or beer. I made it clear I don’t drink but she asked at least three times. She also pushed us getting dessert. This was worst meal we had at Amelia. Will not go back.
